Dr. Renee Marie Bruno, MD

I feel so much better reading these reviews now and knowing that I wasn't being crazy - Dr. Bruno really is judgmental and not a good fit for most. She started out as others had described - caring, helpful (sometimes a little harsh) and calm. Out of nowhere she flipped a switch and I felt as if I was being attacked and constantly talked down to. She put me in a worse place than I was before I saw her and ultimately damaged the way I thought of myself. I would never recommend her to anyone I care about or love and am still recovering from her actions.

You are either going to love her or hate her. Let me be clear, there is no middle ground with her. When I first became a patient of Dr. Bruno‘s, I absolutely loved her. She was great. She was an excellent patient advocate. She was an excellent listener, always respectful and professional as well as sympathetic and understanding. After a few months with several previous successful sessions with Dr. Bruno, I showed up to my scheduled appointment like I had countless times before, and this is when everything, and I mean EVERYTHING i.e. her attitude, her demeanor and even her patience, out of the blue changed/flipped like a light switch, and worst of all, for no reason whatsoever. From what I have since learned, Dr. Bruno treats majority of her patients this way. She has and continues to flip one way or the other on a complete whim. Don’t say you haven’t been warned, because when, and definitely not if it’s always a point of when, she flips, two words WATCH OUT.

This woman is incredible. Before you flinch at the bill, you should know that she doesn’t do her job for the money. I believe she genuinely does it for all the women she helps. She goes so far beyond the responsibilities of a doctor and is doing constant research to stay relevant in her field. It blows my mind how incredibly intelligent she is yet how personable she is. I question if I’d still be here today with a healthy baby in my womb writing this review if it weren’t for her. Please, don’t second guess scheduling an appointment. You deserve this.

Eighteen years ago, my review would have been very different. Today, however, I highly recommend Dr. Bruno. I believe she has taken past reviews to heart and has worked hard to make sure patients are comfortable with her. She’s very knowledgeable. She’s witty, which may come off as sarcastic. I started seeing her again recently, after 18 years, and am pleasantly surprised- so much so that I keep returning!

I found Dr. Bruno by chance about 6 weeks after the birth of my second child. It was a wild ride for me and I truly feel she saved my life. I was barely hanging on when I found her. What's been most amazing is how she helped me figure out what other parts of my life were standing in the way of my progress. I truly leave her visits with an "aha" feeling every time. I've been seeing her for over a year now

I'm 30 now. I went in to see her at 19 at a very vulnerable time of my life and she totally misjudged me and went on to verbally attack my questions. It was so awful she sent me an apology letter in the mail. I never went back. Stopped medication cold turkey knowing at that time she made herself a bigger beast than my anxiety and depression. It took me almost 10 years to try another dr. MUCH better experience.

Dr. Bruno is the best doctor I have ever met. She is extremely knowledgable in her field. She is very compassionate and truly loves her job. I owe her so much and consider her family! HIGHLY recommend her.

She is very judgmental, and condescending. After seeing her many times I always felt as if I were defending myself instead feeling comfortable in a psychiatric setting. I definatley feel she needs to work on her bed side manner

Dr Bruno was my therapist for 15 years. She was the only one ever to help with my depression. She left B.R. for Tulane to my great regret.
