Dr. Reshma Vinod Patel, MD

Had hyperactive/hypothyroid issues since the birth of my daughter 9 years ago. Excited to see a new specialist at the request of my gastro doc who is trying to get some issues fixed, but noticed my thyroid labs were off. I sent my latest blood/dtrs notes from my GP and gastro doc a week before, as my prior thyroid specialist retired. Got into the appt, she did not even come into the room but had me follow her to get an ultrasound in another room, and we talked in that room - no actual exam, and she never even looked at the 2 page patient questionnaire they gave me to fill out and hand to her. I told her my symptoms, and what the gastro doc said. She first explained to me that it must be that I am taking my medication incorrectly, then when I told her that was not the case, she then said the lab results were wrong, because Labcorp processes the thyroid results incorrectly. Then she explained that I could not have the symptoms I was having since I did not have a thyroid. Then sent… me to her lab for the exact same blood work that I had the week before from the same lab (the one she said processes them incorrectly), she got the blood work back - same results I had the week prior, then ordered the same exact prescription for the pharmacy I was already taking (she had my current meds from my GP), and a note that I needed to go back to my GP and be treated for depression, i.e. - all my symptoms and wonky blood work were in my head, and there was nothing wrong with me!! I have not gone back and am currently waiting 6 months to get into see another specialist.

Dr. Patel, is one of the best doctors I've had so far. She is very kind and will take the time to explain your issues and how to overcome them. I trust her judgment. She always looking for the best treatment. Thank you Dr. Patel

I dont understand her. She discussed something that I dont have and then in a follow up said I may not have what she said I had to begin with. She isnt very thorough and is very confusing. Im going to dind a second opinion.

I have been seeing Dr. Patel for several years now and all of my experiences have been very professional and very thorough. Dr. Patel is very kind and compassionate and spends a lot of time explaining issues and looiing for new ways to help me reach my goals. The staff in this office are polite and efficient. I would most definitely refer friends and family to her!
