Dr. Ric M Camarillo, PhD

Dr. Camarillo is a trustworthy and gifted therapist who is not afraid to take on difficult clients (like myself) with chronic psychological problems. I initially saw Dr. Camarillo with my wife and then by myself when it became apparent that I needed one-on-one counseling vs couples therapy. Not many clinicians can handle patients with personality disorders, but Dr. Camarillo has the skills and tenacity to help those who suffer with complicated emotional dysregulation. It has been a long slog getting to the bottom of my disordered personality and dysregulated emotional state but worth every moment of therapy. My guess is the one star ratings posted here likely come from his former clients that could not be honest with themselves and gave up on the process.

I came to Dr. Ric Camarillo in the middle of an emotional divorce of an 18 yr. marriage, with an autistic son, an ultra stressful worklife, and being very depressed. He is wise, thoughtful, very professional and helped me through a very difficult period in my life. Great man, great therapist.

His goal is not therapy , it is to keep patient coming back for years . The role of therapy is to help individual to become self healer and not to be dependent on weekly therapy sessions for years l.

See him once and he will keep you coming for 10 years every week just to get your money . Unethical , unscrupulous

Dr. Camarillo was a Godsend for me and my marriage. He is caring but at the same time pushes for patients to find their truth and not hide behind their past. I learned that therapy is not always comfortable, and I grew the most when confronted by Dr. Camarillo to face my own faults. I am so grateful that he helped me shift my view of life and myself.

He lacks empathy and like to be right rather than help you . If you decided to quit he will use confidential information that you shared with to taunt you with it . He is unscrupulous and over charge insurance long after patient quits.I am currently reporting to board MFT . He claims to be a psychologist he is not he is licensed under Marriage and family counseling . Last claims to have a phd but highly doubt it .
