Highly compassionate, sense of humor @ proper times, will do what is best for patients. I've been a patient for many years now & he also operated in lower back region & all is well. Will spend as much time needed to understand all questions. Just need to find out where he will be practicing after leaving Lighthouse practice.

Dr. Matos is very knowledgeable and explained everything to me clearly. He spent time with me and made me feel like I was important. i highly recommend him.

Over the past few years I've had multiple procedures ranging from 15 epiduralrs two lamenectomies and bi- lateral spinal fusion from a practice I'd rather not speak of. To sum up the out come of this particulars surgeons work was absolutely disastrous. Eventually leaving me in more pain and partially disabled. After doing much research with family, friends and other medical professionals. Also having the luxury of a plethora of medical professionals in my family ranging from RN,CRNA as well an MD. Came to unanimous decision that Dr. Matos would conduct my corrective surgeries needed to regain my whole life I had ahead of me being a young man. That some of which have had the privilege to of worked with him and his team as well. Dr. Matos displayed nothing less than the absolute pinnacle of professionalism. Including spending as much time as needed explaining all of the intricacies to myself and all family prior and post three separate procedures in a short period of time. In which… the first corrective procedure resulted in over 10 hours of surgery. Which ultimately through the process of each procedure Dr. Matos was able to give me my life back. Including being able to walk normally and FREE of ALL nerve pain. While recovering on the orthopedic floor for many days. The general consensus amongst his peers, colleagues , hospital staff and other patients. Was if he isn't the best an most thorough professional orthopedic spine surgeon out there. He is definitely amongst the elite. I couldn't have in any way shape or form asked for a better result. Thank you once again to Dr. Matos to you, your team and the wonderful staff at Holy Cross Hospital. I would recommend Dr. Matos to any of my family, friends and further anyone with any back condition.

I had back pain for 25 years. Went to doctor after doctor looking for help, from Delray Beach to Ft Lauderdale. (Of course they were all supposed to be the best) Over the years, Iâ??ve had 3 back surgeries, over 60 epidurals in my back and 3 different disc-a-grams. Nothing helped, not 1 doctor was sure of anything. I went to see Dr. Matos and after viewing the MRI he ordered. It took him 10 seconds to see I needed surgery to fuse 3 discs. Itâ??s been almost 2 years and beside it being a little tough to reach my shoelaces, I am still 100% pain free. Thank you Doctor Matos!!!!!

I am very impressed with Dr. Matos. He has great bedside manner, very caring, and explains any questions I may have. I feel very confident of him.
