Richard Davant Adams

Dr. Richard Adams is a maternal-fetal medicine specialist with Prisma Health. Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, he earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from St. George’s University. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, followed by a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Vermont in Burlington.

Dr. Adams specializes in the management of high-risk pregnancies, providing advanced care for both maternal and fetal conditions. His clinical expertise includes the management of pregnancies complicated by maternal medical conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, as well as fetal concerns including genetic disorders, congenital anomalies, and growth restriction. He works closely with patients and their care teams to develop comprehensive, individualized care plans aimed at optimizing outcomes for both mother and baby.

He emphasizes clear communication …and patient education, ensuring that patients fully understand their diagnosis, how it may impact their pregnancy, and the available management options.

Outside of work, Dr. Adams enjoys spending time with his family and staying active outdoors.
