Dr. Alan I can not say thank you to you and to your team enough. You and your teams save my spine with very bad scoliosis. That I had. My scoliosis surgery was good. That you done to me. I will never forget your word In my entire life. That you were saying to me I will work on you like my son. You are amazing doctor. And your team as well. Every one who works with me I just want to say thank you very much.

Simply stated, Dr R Todd Allen is a brilliant surgeon and a god send. He gave me back my life, which I thought was nearing its end. I’ve gone from level 10 neck pain and was practically immobile. Two days post surgery and I feel almost great. He is a rare combination of excellent skill, kindness and caring for patients at a personal level. Five stars us too few, he deserves 1,000.

My experience with Dr. Allen leaves me wanting to issue a warning to anyone considering having him do their back surgery. Hire a medical advocate to be by your side post-surgery. When things went terribly wrong for me post-surgery, Dr. Allen did pretty much nothing to help. He basically washed his hands of me as soon as I left the operating room. Do not trust him to oversee your recovery, or to intervene when needed.

Dr. Allen was my spinal physician at the Veterans hospital in LA Jolla for 2 years. He is very honest with his medical assessment and does not do surgical procedures unless they offer a life improvement. He has the best bedside manners I have seen in a physician n last 20 years. I am sorry he has left the preactive with the Veterans Hospital.

When I met Dr Allen I couldn't walk without a can nor more than a few feet. I was on huge doses of strong pain medicine and steroids. I was so discouraged and ready to give up. The pain was unbearable, even with the meds. He asked me to give him a year for surgery and recovery. I am 3 yrs post op. No cane; no pain! I interviewed many doctors before deciding on Dr. Allen. I could not have made a better choice and will forever be grateful to him for giving me my life back!!!

An amazing man! Fantastic care. He truly concerns himself with what is best for the patient. One of the best!

I have previously had 8 back surgeries and my spinal problems became worse until I fortunately was operated on by Dr Allen and Dr Garfin at UCSD. Dr Garfin is known as the surgeon who successfully operates on the worst back problems. Besides reducing my pain, a wonderful surprise was the talented Dr R Todd Allen who played a significant role in my surgery and recovery. I owe these men my life and I thank God for them both.
