In 1984 I was a 23 year old having what I thought was chronic ear infections, so I found a Doctor, set up an appointment, went through several test, both hearing and other test for my jaw joints. Dr Allen implied that my hearing bones were deteriorating, and recommend surgery to replace the hearing bones. Surgery was scheduled, went for lat pre op visit, was told that the surgery had a 99.9% success rate. After surgery the hearing in my left ear sounded like a broken speaker, and the Doctor was called. Long story short, I was told that I had a severe allergic reaction to the material that was used. In late 1984 we moved back to Virginia, and I continued to have issues with my ears hurting. Went to several specialist, and the culprit ended up being TMJ. In the meantime, Dr Allen referred me to a classmate in Norfolk Virginia, where Dr Allen paid for each visit, as well as a Brain Stem Evoked test, where it was verified that the surgery caused permanent nerve damage to my left… ear. I was lied to, toyed with and straight up screwed over. So if anyone is considering surgery performer by him, I recommend highly, get a second opinion. I even called his office to try to obtain records, and was told they were not available.

Dr. Allen cares greatly for all his patients. His staff is kind & courteous. He spends time explaining what is going on with me or my family member. As a primary caregiver for both young children & an older adult, I always bring them to Dr. Allen. Thank you.

Dr. Allen and his staff accurately diagnosed my tongue cancer when OTHER doctors here missed it. He did surgery on my neck and it healed well. I would highly recommend him and his staff.
