Then abruptly ended our friendship, and 10 yrs and 1 month later to day he ended our friendship he was found dead, with a bullet shot to the head, in a Fancy, New Neighborhood. of San Ramon, CA...1 Year or so after re-locating there from Rockridge, CA............. The Dr was recommended for my acquaintance through UC Berkeley's clinic. My friend had graduated from there so I trusted that they made a good recommendation of who to see for his sudden onset with depression. The Dr began his treatment using career assessments to assess depression? Then my acquaintance after a few sessions with Dr.Beery, was able to manipulate his therapy into couples counseling. This is when he was just getting into how he was feeling. The Dr gave into his suggestion. then my former acquaintance decided that he was too expensive and not feeling any better. Then my former acquaintance abruptly broke off our deep bond of friendship. I moved out, (Not w/o a serious Depressive Reaction,… of course), and he shortly after re-located to new city to begin his life over from "Ground Zero." Almost exactly 10 trs after our relationship break up is when he had just re-located to San Ramon, CA, and stopped seeing any of his former friends from Bishop O'Dowd H.S (in Oakland),and Moreau H.S (in Hayward). His mother sent me a box of styrofoam peanuts with a tiny card in the middle, like a small cavity, and informed me of my ex first serious boy friend's death via a Suicide. Anyhow, I am NOT SURE if I would recommend Dr.Beery in seeing anyone feeling depressed over career issues. Career counseling is 1 thing. However he needed a real shrink. The Dr's initial assessment as my FBF informed me, was for Career Satisfaction.....Though he was referred due to feeling career stress and Depression. He really needed a warm transfer to a clinical specialist for Highest Honors, UC Berkeley Graduates suffering from PTSD and Depression post graduation from that lovely IVY League Institution of Learning(?). Perhaps he was just a guinea pig under stress and being observed how well he could cope with, "The Real World" following his graduation from UC Berkeley. They only allowed him 2 yrs following his transfer from Chabot College to take courses there by the way, and Not Sure Y??? I know he had loved science, and his elderly uncle had even participated in experimentation with the invention of The Atom Smasher, ;later used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki too. Oh well, "Don't go there it's, "Some bad hat Harry!!"
