Dr. Richard Daniel Brand, MD

Dr. Brand was recommended by a close friend, I had been looking for a doctor that could take care of my health care needs in one place. Dr. Brands staff was excellent, I was emailed the new patient forms and was given instructions on how to send them back. I received a call immediately for an appointment I called during the shut down so having a (telehealth) video visit with Dr. Brand was a great experience. Very professional and pleasant office. Looking forward to when they actually take face to face appointments but until then I am happy with my appointments in the comfort of my home.

I was denied patient care and this office violated HIPPA by not having a secure way to send/receive important patient forms via the web or secure emails. I cannot believe these people are employed. Elvia and Janet are the most unprofessional officer manager and medical assistant I have ever dealt with. They treated me very poorly and do not have the skills to deal with the public. Janet calls me to set up the appointment and would not help me in providing an email to send the new patient paperwork to. she said, " just go to the website!" Then she would not email me the info - email address or web address- and indicated that they do not send out the web links to patients that I needed to find it for myself. I will admit, I became super irritated that in 2020, a dr's office staff is not adept enough to provide a welcome email to new patients with directions on how to obtain new patient forms, and on how to upload them or email them back. I did not have a pen to write down the web… address to get the forms so I tried to remember the address in my head. So the weekend goes by and I took Janet's word that all of the info- getting the forms and uploading would be there. The day of my appointment, I go to the web and find the forms. BUT THEN, there is no way to upload them! Ughhhhh! so then, Janet calls me 5 minutes before to say that they do not have my forms and cannot see me. Not once did they offer a way to resolve the issue or provide me a way to send the forms up. Janet hung up on me and refused to fix the issue. I called back and spoke to Elvia, the office manager and she was just as rude. I tried to talk to her and she was entirely abrasive and told me to go and contact blueshield and find another doctor. I tried to explain to her that they abruptly cancelled my appointment without trying to find a way for me to send the forms to her. she still would not tell me how to send the forms and she said that, "that is what the internet is for,we don't send patient web links!" Iam thinking to myself, Okay, so this is a quality issue and they do not understand technology. I told her that the dr. would not like what is happening and how they are treating patients and she says, "well if you know him personally, then tell my name, I am the office manager and my name is Elvia and you can go elsewhere! She hung up! I immediately called Blue shield to file a formal complaint. This is going to the highest complaint board there is - Blue shield appeals. Blue shield even tried to get through to them and Elvia still would not help the blueshield rep either! Elvia tried to say it was her personal email that is used for personal patient info! She apparently did not know that is in direct violation of HIPPA! This is huge and I would not go to this office people. Stay away from this office. these ladies are not only inept, but they are ghetto! Also, this is not the first time I am sure, that they have done this...meaning push patients away. Its sad and now they are messing with their contract with the managed care... especially during a time like this... when the world is experiencing a major pandemic!

This drs office received records of a family member by mistake, but his staff failed to even look to see if this was a patient of theirs. In my experience when we obtained info on an individual, what ever it may have been, X-rays, lab etc. we always pulled the patients file before giving the dr. new info on the patient in question ..This dr called my family member read the ct scan results to them ask them what meds their dr had them on, when this was told to the dr. he told them to stop taking their prescribed meds and changed it over to something else which ended up causing them major health effects that were not good..when I called his office to find out what was going on the office manager refused to let me speak to the dr and said that this was not their patient.. So if it’s not your patient why would you call them to tell them what their scan results were and changed meds not knowing their health background which in this case turned out to be very dangerous...perhaps when you… found out there had been a mistake it would have been nice to get a call back from his office to inform us that this had occurred .. But instead they just shredded the records and went on like it was nothing ..I would not recommend this dr. and his rude staff to anyone..

I was referred by my OBGYN for GDM the doctor and staff are amazing!! I was very pleased with all the help. I would highly recommend this office.

The awkwardness of the visits are the worst part. He cares more to tell u more about how it's his b day then to hear about your condition. So much that he'll forget to write out your prescription. The nxt vist he said the same thing which was, "you don't look sick." I'm not sure what that means. Do I need to have tubes out of my nose? I went in to check the status of my osteoporosis & leg injury. Then he was too busy looking at my breasts to hear a word I had to say & decided to start walking towards the door before I was even done addressing my questions or concerns. Bottom line, this doc cares more about himself then his patients. The only good thing is his staff is quit pleasant & deserve to work for a more caring doctor.

My first time seeing Dr. Brand was more then I expected on a first encounter. Dr. Brand has an awesome office staff who are very kind. I was set up to see the dietician for a better one on one understanding of my condition, which was also a great visit. Any time I call for an appointment I'm offered same day or even next day appointments. With 3 providers in the office I say I am always well taken care of.Thanks Dr. Brand and staff.

The joy of find out I was expecting my first born so exciting, but find out I had Gestational Diabetes was scary.I was referred to Dr.Brand's office where I meet a very caring staff. I had to start insulin!!! They have Educator's in the office that showed me to test my blood sugars and take insulin.From the first time called to schedule my consult down to the last visit I was very pleased with the office.I delivered a healthy baby.Thanks to the help of Dr.Brand & his wonderful staff!

I have been under Dr. Brand's care for over 20 years. I considered him one of the best in his specialized fields. My wife has been under his care also for over 10 years. I found Dr. Brand very compassionate, especially when my wife and I were hospitalized and have been diagnosed with cancers. We both have our trust, first to the Lord and secondly to Dr. Brand. He is the best.

I have yet to see Dr Brand (who may be an good doctor . . . ???). My first appointment I waited ~3mos to see Dr Brand and the day before my appt they switched me to the nurse practitioner. After that I called to schedule an appt and had to leave a message. My call was never returned. My next call, a couple of months after that was answered by an already irritable office manager who told me it was going to be another 3 month wait, and that the doctor was double booked. So I get to wait three months for a rude office manager, a doctor who is late, and I only get 5 minutes with (due to overbooking)? Very poor customer service from the office manager. But I guess when you already have that many patients who needs to worry about the few that object to bad treatment.
