Dr. Richard Allan Carter, DO

Dr Carter and his staff are the best of the best! I've been seeing the Dr. since 2009 for my lap band adjustments and he's professional, extremely knowledgeable, and just an all around good man.You could never hope for a better doctor.

Dr Carter is great, but the front desk lady Debbie is your worst nightmare. Dr. Carter told me to call any time I had any questions or concerns, I called the first time with a question I was asking about the diet and if could speak to a nurse (because she's appointment and billing), she refused to let me speak to a nurse and just read me the same guidelines that I already had from my consultation folder. I needed more detailed answers to make sure I'm doing this pre-op diet correctly. She always as a attitude, you can clearly tell she's always annoyed by her patients and doesn't even give them the time of day and is always so short and rude. Seriously reconsidered going to another doctor just because his staff.

Need to Retire Dr Carter to arrogant self Righteous .

I thought Dr. Carter had a fair bedside manner. A nice personality, and overall I loved the staff. Very friendly and helpful. I feel 100% better now that I've had my Gallbladder surgery.

I have been so excited since my LapBand Surgery in 2005. I have lost 200 pounds and very proud of it. Were there problems? Only the ones that I caused myself when I thought I could eat the way my friends were eating. Sure I made mistakes and so does everyone else, but the bottom line is that this Doctor and the Surgery saved my life. As time has gone on, if I had not lost the weight I would not be alive to tell you it works and it works better if we all try and do what Dr. Carter advises. He is not a pie in the sky doctor. If we expect everything he does for us to be exceptional, then it is only right that he expects us to follow instructions. I have never known him or his staff to be rude to me, busy yes but not rude. Dr. Carter has always had time to talk to me about any problems. He listens and sometimes that is all we need. Example: My husband died and he took the extra time to listen to me and how that added stress to my eating and my life. I had a hip replacement… that went to a nightmare of having a bad infection and had to be replaced the second time, he took his time to listen to me. God expects us to watch what is coming over our lips and let our words not be negative to other people. Try harder to find a positive statement to help someone. Without the surgery, you may have had problems that could have taken your life. Be glad you are a slim person now and do not always have to go to a Plus Size store. Thank God for a good doctor that help people. Thank you Dr. Carter.

Dr. Carter seemed very nice great personality. ..However I believe he's a crooked crook!...He performed my surgery in 2006 Everything was going really well with 2 exceptions 1 He never told me there's a possibility that I would lose my hair due to protein defficiency from losing weight so quickly even with his expensive protein shakes. 2nd because I was losing weight so rapidly he began to take solution out of my pouch but documenting that he had added solution immediately I felt more room in my pouch snd I could eat Gumore I asked him how come I could eat more all of a sudden when before I couldn't finish a bowl of cereal now I can I flat out ssk him if he wa he swore he was removing saline rather than adding saline he flat out denied doing so....Well I decided to go to a different provider for the rest of my treatment. ..Low Behold it was discovered that my suspicion was the absolutely Correct and true I didn't tell my new doctor about my suspicion until after he revealed how… many C C 'S of saline I actually had in my pouch...Dr. carter told me that I had 4 CC'S...So not true...I only had 2. SHAME ON Y O U...! after Carter really need to learn what it means to have integrity because he did not have it with me if I were you I would stay clear of this I don't know what his motive behind taking save me out of my mad babe hows rather than it was possibly that my appointments would end fairly quickly cuz I was actually losing weight very quickly

He is a butcher - I was scheduled for implants after discovery revealed I had numerous cysts in both breasts. After surgery I went home and on the second night, my husband woke up with blood all over the sheets and I was rushed in for corrective surgery. The implants he placed in my chest were too big for my body size, and they actually ripped though my skin and destroyed my breasts. Years of constructive surgery won't ever correct the damage done by this man. Do NOT let this man operate on you or any member of your family. If you do, you risk destroying your physical appearance, not to mention the mental anguish a women goes through from such damage. He needs to be labeled the 'butcher' is my opinion. I gave him a '1' on everything because there is not a negative or a 'quack' button.

I had my lapband surgery in 09 and all I can say is that Dr. Carter is the best. His staff is very nice they all know me by name. I would recommend him to anyone that's interested in getting the lapband surgery.

I actually got up and left out of my appointment with this man after I was called a "3 year old" by him because I wasn't counting calories and had put on 3 whole pounds that month. I have never been berated and offended by a professional that I was paying for their service. This man neither deserves the right to call himself a doctor nor does he need to be working with individuals who are struggling to lose weight. His answer to everything is to count calories and eat only 1200 calories a day. In the mean time I'm at 7 months past my surgery and still don't have any sort of help from the band. What he's doing is providing the bare minimum in fills so that he can milk my insurance company since they cover fills at 100%. He's a shady old man who doesn't give a flip about his patients as long as the insurance is right and the checks clear.

Well im dealing with the same issues went to er and had xrays i cant hold water down or jello and for anyone readin i do eat right take small bites and nope still dont go down Dr Carter refuse to take any out ive lost 85 pounds one person told me my goal was 190 now he say 150 i dont want to be down that small he dont listen and im depressed just raking up bills and he charge for every dang thang im going to order my medical records and switch ASAP im tired of vomitting everyday
