Dr. Richard Harris Flyer, MD

The admin staff at this location are dangerously incompetent. Avoid at all costs! Though the doctors are good and caring, the office is a mess! You will regularly wait an hour for a scheduled appt. I'm not exaggerating. Their staff are embarrassingly incompetent. Now that they have joined with Summit Medical Group, they have added extra bureaucracy to incompetency. Parents, avoid at all costs! You have enough headaches in your life already. Take you precious children elsewhere!

Dr. Flyer is an excellent clinician. His bedside manner is lacking, at times, but he has helped us tremendously with our child who had numerous health issues as an infant. He worked well with the many specialists we visited and even calls at night to "check in" and see how our child is feeling. After leaving another practice we are very pleased with the TLC that our child (and WE as parents) are given!

Had been a loyal patient for a number of years but had found in the last few years, since they changing billing practices and out sourced the billing to a third party, unidentified charges would be added to the bill. The internal billing coordinator would be unhelpful and unable to thoroughly explain why the charges would appear. Unfortunately, having a number of these occurrences, decided to move to another provider.

All of the doctors at Park Avenue Pediatrics are thorough and caring. The office staff is also caring. They remember all the patients well and spend time talking to parents with a loving, concerned tone about their children. Each time we take our 13 month old, which is often due to a condition that needs frequent monitoring, we are treated respectfully and shown genuine concern for our daughter's well being. We love this practice.

We, on multiple occasions, had to call the answering service a few times before we would get a call back- usually well over an hour after we called. And what is more annoying is that the answering service informs us that the doctor on call has received our message!

We are very happy with Dr. Flyer's practice, his partners are both excellent as well. They are competent and know when to refer to specialists when needed. There is sometimes a wait when you have an appointment, but you can always get a same day appointment for a sick child, which is important ant likely explains the delays for regular appointments.

You need to check your ego at the door with Dr. Flyer. He is extremely competant, so i ignore his arrogance. His staff is hit or miss. For the first 10 yrs they treated me like I was interrupting them, however I have found if you are really nice to them they will respond in kind. The last 2 yrs they have treated me well. I do hate the ridiculous amt of time they need to complete camp forms. It seems that the office staff run the show. If you seek tenderness along w great proessional care request Dr. Sirna who is exceptioal in both areas. If you seek diagnostic talents, Dr Flyer is the one to request.

You expect to find a kind, understanding voice of reason when you call any doctor's office, especially after taking your kid there for over 12 years. The office staff member representing Dr. Flyer speaks with an edge in her voice the minute she gets on the phone, you can expect cold condescending remarks the minute you need or question anything. This medical practice is like a fast food restaurant. If you need a medical form for a summer camp they need 6 weeks notice. This is a modern day medical practice too busy to actually care about patients.

He's a good doctor, but was not very cooperative with our child's specialist, which we found to be very difficult to deal with. Some members of the office staff are rude. The only doctor we like is Sirna. Unfortunately, we'll be going to a different pediatrician that will be willing to listen to another doctors opinion.
