Dr. Richard Stephen Gilbert, MD

Based on my personal experience, although the doctor is good, his staff is so abhorrent that I must recommend for persons who require treatment to find another doctor. The staff are rude, unpleasant, unhelpful and somehow believe they control your destiny. Here’s some news for them, customers can easily go elsewhere thereby removing income from the doctors pocket. If you require treatment, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Dr. Richard Gilbert is a top New York City extremely knowledgeable, straightforward, gentle but firm professional, honest and results oriented hand/surgeon physician answering all your questions and his precision work results in a cured hand. Dr. Gilbert put my smattered bones back together in my wrist and I healed perfectly. Recently with a very painful trigger thumb due to wrong over use on a poorly designed mouse, also gripping a flower clipper for my work, and possible improper gripping action on my bicycle bar, resulted in a very painful debilitating case of trigger thumb. His precise injection with cortisone resulted in perfect success and I am free of pain after four days. The swelling and inflammation is over. Dr Gilbert tells it to you straight and you just feel so secure in his care. The offices are immaculate, state of the art and from start to finish you feel you are in hands of a supremely practiced professional. I have been with this doctor for15 years and he is the go-to… man for hand issues of all kinds. He is also caring and does what has to be done..it has been always the most straight-forward and sensible experience from a physician I have ever experienced. Just a great person and a great doctor. Go, because he will fix your problem. Super high recommended.He is the real thing in orthopedic hand surgery and other treatments. Top of the line care. Dr. Gilbert and his staff have been tremendous during a prolonged debacle with OWCP. His staff provided every bit of information asked by OWCP, and they were patient and knowledgeable throughout the process. Dr. Gilbert is incredible. His knowledge of the hands is unbelievable and I've had two separate surgeries from him, with my hand being in a cast at present from a very complex surgery he performed only 10 days ago. A doctor of his caliber that also takes patients who are hurt on the job is unheard of, and his accreditations are numerous and impressive. Highly recommended surgeon, who tries to rehab you before slicing you up. He cares and he's good. What more could you ask for?
