Dr. Richard Keating, MD

Worst doctor visit I've had in decades. I sought evaluation for progressive pain, neuropathic symptoms, and known autoimmune disease. During the visit, previously established diagnoses were questioned without record review, clinically relevant symptoms such as dysautonomia were acknowledged verbally but not documented, and outside records were refused review. He said I can't be celiac if I never had a positive result on biopsy (untrue), even though it's been confirmed by genetic testing and other doctors. My functional medicine physician was referred to as a ‘scammer,’ which felt unprofessional. No clear diagnostic or management plan was offered.He ordered a couple of labs that I know will provide no insight into my complex condition (I'm ignoring that). He then told me to come back in 3 months and left. This interaction left me feeling dismissed and discouraged. No plans to return ever. AVOID.

Those 2 bad reviews must be fake. I’ve been going to Dr. Keating for about 6 years now. He treats my autoimmune illness and fibromyalgia. He is very kind, caring, and willing to order tests, treat or do whatever is needed for my care. I was seeing another rheumatologist before him who seemed to always be in a hurry and not really engaged in my care. I quit him and another dr of mine recommended Dr. Keating. He’s the best!

Wow, I don’t know where those 2 bad reviews came from but i have been going to Dr. Keating for 3 years now and he’s been nothing but fantastic! Very concerned about my care, ordering tests when needed, no problem. Never have to wait long, and he’s always been there for every appt. He’s a very knowledgeable dr and was highly recommended by one of my top specialists. Dr. Keating is also very caring. I recommend him highly.

I really don't understand the other reviews. He openly refused ordering tests that would help diagnose an issue. He suggested hip surgery for a back problem.

I waited 1.5 hours from the time of my appointment but he never showed up. I just left. What a total zero!!!

Dr. Keating listens to my current medical issues and responds with easily understood suggestions.

I saw Dr. Keating for several years. It was a hassle to drive to Chicago from the suburbs, but that's not why I stopped seeing him. It was the billing department that never billed my supplement insurance, but Dr. Keating even helped me figure out that this was why I kept getting threatening bills. I've tried docs in the suburbs but they don't hold a candle to him.
