Dr. Richard Murray Kirby, MD

Dr. Kirby is outstanding. He is empathetic; he listens well, and he communicates clearly. Moreover, his relaxed but professional demeanor put me at ease- which is important because that made for better communication. Basically, Dr. Kirby is not only one of our region's top docs, he's also a great guy. As a bonus, his staff were also outstanding. I had to wait past the appointment time to see him; I think that's a fair trade-off, to be seen by a physician who doesn't rush appointments. I give Dr. Kirby and his staff an A+

I had this done in 2011. I just loved Dr. Kirby. He took very good care of me. My shoulder is stronger than it ever has been. Thank you Dr. K.

Dr. Kirby put on a nice front that he is sweet and compassionate, but he is far from that. I had labrum shoulder surgery and he sent me back to work full time as a flight attendant with in a month with NO physical therapy. I told him it still really hurts, but he said “push through the pain.” After pushing through the pain for 2 months like he said to do, I got a worst tear in the labrum. Did NOT go back to him and my new Dr. said the medical notes that Dr. Kirby wrote said “it was in my head” (in medical terms) I would never recommend him, he needs to retire. I actually get anxiety talking about him, that’s why it has taken me this long to write this review. Do NOT trust him under the knife!

Staff and Dr. Kirby very respectful. After an MRI, Kirby said surgery not in order. Recommended exercises that I could do at home. My shoulder was fine after a few weeks of doing exercises. I have recommended him 4 times and each time friends had positive results.

Very personable, took time to explain things well & to answer all my questions. Repaired torn rotator cuff on both shoulders. Dr. Kirby & his staff are absolutely top notch.

Was referred to Dr. Kirby by my primary in Olympia for a shoulder replacement. I always saw Dr. Kirby, never a PA, for each visit and the replacement surgery at Swedish was expertly done and with compasion. What a find!!!

I have full range of motion after bicep and rotator cuff surgery. He provided me with all the information I needed before and after surgery to make good decisions. I recommend him.
