Dr. Richard Lyn Lloyd, DO

Had a very unsatisfactory and unfortunate experience with this primary care office staff, as well as Dr. Lloyd. I recently moved to Arizona and needed a new care team. Despite having previously diagnosed conditions that require treatment by specialist doctors (endocrine, cardiologist), my insurance required a referral from a PCP. I came here with rather extreme hyperthyroid symptoms (high RHR, dizziness, exhaustion, insomnia, anxiety) and the Dr said he’d test my thyroid. Instead of ordering a full panel (as is typical when on a synthroid prescription and being treated for Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, as I am), he only ordered TSH. I got the test done and then no one contacted me. For a week I tried to get in contact with the office through multiple phone calls and messages in the patient portal to learn about my results and follow-up as my symptoms worsened, but no one seemed to be concerned. In fact, anyone I spoke to at the office (front desk & nurses) treated me as if I was ridiculous… to request further testing or follow up. I finally learned that they had sent a physical letter via snail mail telling me my initial results were “normal”. No one ever planned to follow up with me despite me having worsening symptoms. Unfortunately by the time that letter arrived, I was in the ER with severe chest discomfort. The ER told me to go to cardiology and rheumatology, but both still require a referral from my PCP. Dr. Lloyd refused to give me a referral without paying for another appointment during which he entered the room and immediately said “I’ll give you the referrals but I won’t be taking you on as a patient because your messages in our patient portal are inappropriate.” Apparently, requesting proper treatment, testing, and a timely follow up is “inappropriate”. In the end, all you are is another # and $ here. Typical.

Definitely not a people person. Didn't seem to be knowledgeable or care about my ailment. Not recommended.

My husband and I both love Dr. Lloyd for our doctor. He is always pleasant and caring when seeing us. Looks out for our well being, and explains reasons for treatments we might need. Would highly recommend him as a family doctor to anyone.

The dr. Richard Lloyd was very rude and wasnt very smart. He acted like we was better than everyone there

Good doctor. Explains every thing in detail, takes time to answer questions and does good work. Also great staff, very helpful and polite.

No nonsense, prompt visits, obviously extremely intelligent and experienced. Takes the time to make sure patients understand their health processes, what medications are for and how to take them, and how to be an active part of their own health management. Speaks in lay terms with thorough explanations. Excellent care, I wouldn't talent family anywhere else.

Very unfriedly. No bedside manner. Acted like he didn't care about me. Will not continue to go to him.

My son and i waited over an hour in a half to see dr.Lloyd. Then he came in looking like he didnt even care about my son and told us he was fine and that he was just over tired and needed rest. And so we left and that very night my son woke up with a 103 temp and was throwing up and shaking. Later that day we found out at the hospital my had the flu and was dehydrated. Dr. Lloyd is by far the worst doctor my family has had.

Very unfriedly person. Would not go to him as a doctor. No bedside manner.
