Dr. Richard Dwight Marciniak, MD

Steer clear of this office manager(Tiffany)! She is Vindictive and manipulative! Decided to misrepresent a patient to the Nurse Practioner without seeing the patient in question and cancelled the appointment without an evaluation!!!! I guess they can determine what level of care you need without seeing you in person! So sad they put someone like that in a mental health office.

I have been going to Dr. Marciniak for about a year. He is a great doctor who is very knowledgeable about OCD and anxiety. He helped me find an alternative OCD medication that did not cause weight gain and helped me to successfully transition from my old medication to the new one. Wait times are very short and it is easy to get an appointment. He is very nice and professional and he was a great help when writing me a doctors note for traveling overseas. He is great on follow up and usually schedules follow up appointments between three and nine months out. He is not a therapist he is a medical doctor. If you are looking for a touchy feely person and someone to vent to and assist you with coping technics you need to speak with a therapist. If your looking for a good, knowledgeable doctor to assist you with finding a good medication I highly recommend.

Seems to know enough for my problem (depression and meds issues). But follow up, ease of getting appointment or phone conversation, bedside manner, and sense of caring is pretty much non-existent. However, I have had only 2 appointments in person, both quite short. I realize, though that psychiatrists in this area are hard to find. He did forced a quick smile last time... Maybe if I keep my the positive feedback reward system, if I can figure out his motivating factors... LOL :-D

The doctor is a experienced and knowledgeable doc. He understands the illnesses and the drugs used to treat them.

Dr. Marciniak is very knowledgable of Bipolar Disorders. He is compassionate and patient and I've always felt as if he listens and spends time with me. He is very easy to talk to as well.

I was a patient for this doctor for almost a year and can honestly say I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. The beginning I had no issues that lasted a very short period of time as they were very proud to calling canceling my appointments to reschedule due to various excuses. Here recently I went in for an appointment I had been trying to get it for probably about two months (missed an appointment because they moved and never even told me I had no idea that they were even moving in the near future, canceled because of computer problems, never return calls, etc) where I was told Iota a $50 fee for being a no-show. Apparently I was a no-show the day that I actually drove up to my appointment was there on time and they had moved to a new building without giving me ANY notice!!!! I am only required to come in every couple months so I would have had no way of knowing that they were moving had they not contacted me which they did not. I told them that technically I had not missed my… appointment the day of that appointment I called and was told by somebody that I would not be charged because I did come to my appointment it was not my fault that they did not let me know so while I was telling the doctor about this he very rudely interrupted me and told me that I have been told sorry but no I had never been told. I would not have driven across town to my appointment missed my child's award ceremony only to find out that they had moved to an even further away location. The doctor actually had the audacity to completely interrupt me and practically yell yes I was informed and I truly truly was not I feel completely scammed that I have to pay $50. Even continued to tell me how I had canceled a whole bunch of appointments and then a no-show know if this was true the receptionist is extremely rude I have not been this angry in a very long time, if ever. Once I reached my car I had to cry for a minute because I was just so angry. It's not because of a measly $50 (not measly to me but u get the drift) but because they were wrong, everything he said was a total lie!!! It was because of their consistent canceling my appointment that I actually ran out of medication they were supposed to send my prescription via fax to my pharmacy told me they did pharmacy said they never got it when I called the doctors office back they once again very rudely treated me like I was lying like yes I want more of this medication and I'm trying to scam people to get more of this medication that does nothing but make me sick. I have never been treated so rudely by a doctor and all my life and his staff is not any better. I am beginning to think that it was the secretary putting down that I canceled my appointments when in reality it was her I canceled two appointments out of about 10 that were canceled I am not lying if it were the other way around I have no problem paying that fine now I'm in a weird position because I'm going to have to pay it so it does not affect my credit and on the other hand paying it admits fault. I feel like I am paying for something I did not do it's not a matter of feeling that way that sexually how it really is. I am 100% done with this doctor I will never go back again and I am going to check into what I can do about this $50 fine I am just adamant about not paying it not paying for a mistake I did not make!!! It has been on my mind all day how he talk to me and said very adamantly "yes you were told" because no I was not I would not of missed my appointment was very important that I got into my appointment because I needed him to fill out paperwork for my school. Horrible horrible doctor should not have the right to treat anyone! Probably getting rich falsely charging people these fees! RUN AWAY!

I have been seeing Dr. Marciniak for the last 8 years. I never have to wait, he is always on time. I am amazed that he takes time to talk about his personal life and adventures. He helped me through the death of my mother and the suicide of my brother. I am also bi-polar and have made great strides in my life.

Dr. Marciniak is hands-down the worst doctor I've ever had. And I'm not just including psychiatrists. I can count on my hand the number of times he's asked me a question about my moods. Rushed me out of his office when we went 10 minutes over and said (verbatim) "you are not my only patient and I don't have time to answer every single question you have." He also told me my most recent manic phase was my fault. I left his office in tears. Zero compassion, zero empathy, zero bedside manner. HE TAKES PERSONAL PHONE CALLS WHILE YOU'RE IN HIS OFFICE. STAY AWAY!!

ProPublica investigated doctors who took money from drug companies for speaking. I looked up Dr. Marciniak and he made about 50K in 2012 for this. That says to me I can't trust him to make an impartial decision about my meds. He did suggest I do a specific therapy program, which I did--and it changed my life. But in my visits with him he didn't listen to me (he did most of the talking) and seemed to only push pills. Don't go to him.
