Dr. Richard Hisham Mccarroll, MD

Dr. McCarroll laparoscopically repaired two hernias in my abdomen and I feel great! He spoke with me before and after surgery about my procedure. He has a great personality, great bed-side manner and is a very knowledgeable and experienced surgeon. I would absolutely trust him again if I needed another surgery and I would certainly recommend him to anyone. It's very comforting to a patient to find a doctor that caring and capable. Thank you Dr. McCarroll.

He was the greatest doc. Couldn't have ended up with a better one. He was caring and has a GREAT personality which is rare for most doctors. He made you feel like you were his main priority, didn't rush conversations and was always there for us. Emergency appendectomy.

I had a procedure done in his office, and was very impressed with his bedside manner. He was very thorough in explaining everything that he was about to do with me. This greatly reduced my anxiety. He took his time doing the procedure, and did everything he could to minimize any discomfort. The office staff was courteous.

Due to Pneumonia, our mother was not a candidate for surgery for a perforated colon. Dr. McCarroll shared with us that surgery is not the current preferred treatment, but that bowel rest (along with antibiotics for the abscess that had developed in the abdominal cavity and TPN for nourishment) will often allow the body to close the bowel on its own. He visited the hospital daily, kept up with her other conditions and treatments and his wait and see approach paid off.

I knew he was a newer surgeon so i pretty much interviewed him as a skeptic and asked a ton of questions. I took the position that i was hiring him and if i did not feel comfortable i would look elsewhere. The patient was my 18 year old daughter who is very precious to me. Dr. McCarroll was exceptionally patient, totally understood my position. I asked specific questions (risks, experience, etc.) was very reassured by his answers. We talked for at least 30 minutes and he encouraged me to ask anything and to express any/all concerns. I also met one of the other 2 surgeons that he practices with prior to the surgery. The surgery -- an appendectomy - went exceptionally well and we were able to come home that evening. I could not say enough nice things about this physician.
