Dr. Richard Ho Chen Ming, MD

Astoundingly intelligent, professional, and competent physician who is simultaneously business-like and friendly - puts you at ease, is informative without being condescending or "superior", and makes you feel comfortable with placing your medical care (and in my case, my life) in his hands - confident that you're getting the absolute best of care.

I think Dr Ming is great. Unfortunately getting an appointment is difficult. He sees patients in the office one day a week and does procedures the other days. I called for an appointment and was told I would have to wait two months, and they were not making those appointments yet. That is a great help when you are hurting.

I was extremely impressed with Dr. Ming. He spent a lot of time with me, asked great questions, and I got the sense that he cared about my well-being. But it took 2 months to get an appointment to swallow a dummy capsule to see if I was a candidate for a capsule endoscopy and 2 more months to schedule a follow-up appointment with Dr. Ming. The instructions given to me for the capsule endoscopy had the wrong location on it. I called his office to at least get results of blood tests done after the original appointment, but no one called me back so I waited 4 months to get blood test results. It doesn't matter how good the doctor is if you can't get in to see him and the office staff is totally incompetent.

Dr. Ming accurately diagnosed two health problems completely missed by the primary care doctor....which were well within the primary care doctor's scope of responsibility. Lab results were ignored or overlooked for months until frustration resulted in a visit to Dr. Ming....who made the diagnosis with no other information/tests other than those previously done by the primary care doctor. Tests then ordered by Dr. Ming confirmed his diagnosis. Dr. Ming is thorough, professional, caring and a credit to his profession.

I am a patient of Dr. Ming's and he is one of the most dedicated, intelligent physicians I have ever known. He tells you like it is, even if it's not necessarily what you want to hear. I have enormous respect for him and trust him with my life. I am not a fan of most doctors as I find most of them to be substandard and not very interested in their patients. This is not true of Dr. Ming. I highly recommend him as an internest and as a gastroenterologist.
