Dr. Richard Alan Silverstein, MD

Dr Silverstein is a good doctor. He listens, he has a sense of humor, and he takes immediate action if you have a worrying symptom. He's not dismissive but he seems to think he knows more about medicine than I do (go figure). I'm happy to rate him a 5, because he does what he can under the constraints of modern medicine. My father was a doctor, active from the 1940s to the early 1980s. He spent an hour with patients on the first visit and a half hour thereafter. It would be possible to rate Dr. Silverstein a 4 under those standards, but I think we need to be realistic. He is knowledgeable, shows individual concern with your health, and encourages you to do things that will improve your health. He responds to questions with answers, and doesn't mind if you question him.

Horrific. Uncaring, doesn’t listen, will not explain efficacy of rx, misogynist. Blamed a stressful life event for my illness that required hospitalization, despite the FACT that it occurred 2 months AFTER hospital discharge. Refused to reconsider his dx (all in my head) but I don’t have a time machine (yet). He also did not show for 75% of my appointments.
