Dr. Richard Victor Spera

I cannot say enough about the quality of care Richard Spera gives to my husband, Joe Pullen, DMD. I have never in my life seen a physician who is more competent and who is more thorough in his staying on top of every issue my husband has. He is quick to refer him to another specialist if it is needed. He referred him to Vanderbilt for two specialists when we wanted other opinions--not in Dr. Spera's area of expertise but in other areas. He is simply the finest physician I have ever come in contact with and he cares deeply about my husband and about me. I wish every person in the world had a physician this smart, competent and caring. I could write a book about the way he has taken care of my husband.

My 84 year old mother is under Dr Spera's care,and we are so pleased with the wonderful care that she is receiving. He is a very kind,caring and compassionate physician. The staff is always professional, caring and reliable.

Dr. Spera is an excellent doctor who has always been very prompt and professional as my doctor. I have recommended him to my family and friends and he has become their doctor as a result. When my son broke his leg he was immediately available to make sure all went well at the hospital.

Dr. Spera and his office staff are caring and very helpful. He is a wonderful physician and solved my health problems.

Got a call from the home health agency about changing my IV med after I had just seen the doc that afternoon. He told me no new changes. I told him I needed to confirm this first with the docs office. When I went into the doc office the next day I was placed in a office with my wife. He came in and cursed and loudly berated me and my wife for verbally being rude to a home health supervisor. After several times denying that we had not even spoke to this supervisor, he called his nurse in to get her to call him and verify his story. After speaking to him the nurse returned and told him (Spera)we were correct and his office had only informed him of our supposed behavior and admitted we hadn't actually spoken with him. My wife asked if he was going to apologize for his language and behavior, he said "I think not". that right or wrong I should not have questioned the home health nurse. NOONE deserves this type behavior because he is a doc.

Dr. Spera is a very kind and compassionate doctor. It is apparent he cares about his patients and he truly wants to help them.
