Dr. Richard Stewart, DO

During my postpartum care, Dr. Stewart managed to speak down to me more offensively than any other health care professional I’ve ever encountered. With a reluctance to answer direct questions about my care, Dr. Stewart instead insisted on calling any of the number of treatments I was on simply “medicine” and reminded me my “job is to leave the worrying” to folks like him. Perhaps he was so curt and unenlightening because I was a patient of the birth center, and he was simply the floor attending unwittingly wrangled into my care. But still. It was remarkable to see someone with such a long tenure in women’s medicine be so incredibly unable to meet a patient at their own (rather competent) health literally level, and instead resort to nearly misogynistic reductiveness.

Do not know what these other people are talking about. Thais doctor has hot to be the worst, My unfortunate interactions with him came about because the surgeon who was supposed to perform my surgery went on an unexpected leave of absence and I got stuck with him. I could tell what I got stuck with immediately, but had no choice since I needed the surgery.He walked into the room like he owned the building. His cocky demeanor and ego made the room crowded. The person that came with me for the pre-op appointment said when we left, "you are in trouble with this one" to me. I should have listened. It gets worse. The day of my surgery, the doctor did not even talk with me. He stood outside my room (before surgery), talked with a bunch of residents, yelled something to me from outside the room, and left. Then after, when I thought I may be having problems afterwards and was told go to ER, he told me that maybe I should be drinking something stronger than water (alcohol), and not be… bothering him. Is this the kind of gynecologist you would want to see. I learned my lesson. I never went back to see him after that. Requested another doctor. The man seems like all he wants to do is to impress the residents he is training and put on a big show for them.I seriously hope these residents turn out nothing like this guy, or there will be bad doctors out there. His bedside manner is deplorable. Not caring or very friendly at all. Makes you feel very uneasy. Just pass if you get this guy.

Dr. stewart is the best OBGYN I have ever had. He is very nice and is willing to listen to patient's concerns. He is very caring.
