Dr. Richard Warren Tisovec, MD

Give this boy some love! He's attentive, knowledgeable, and down to earth. I saw reviews picking on his behavior - he's quirky, so what? He's a DOCTOR. Any job that takes a lot of knowledge draws some personalities. Uh.. engineers? Hello... I've had a few visits over the years and will keep going because he really knows his stuff and is so nice. Plus he's cool - he puts up with my rambling (I hate doctors - I get so nervous), my asking questions and making my little jokes. He rolls with it and I feel very accepted. Anyway, the country has a doctor shortage, and this guy has so many years of experience. Anyone who gets to see him is lucky. Yes, LUCKY.

To many personal problems that get in the way of him being a good doctors.

Dr. Tisovec diagnosed my wife with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever on the basis of one blood test (which we later learned often gives false positive results if a virus is present) and put her on an antibiotic. After she didn't get better, she did some research on her own and went back to Dr. T. saying that she felt like RMS was not a good fit with her symptoms. He refused to run any further tests. Instead, he offered to put her on another round of antibiotics even though "it won't help."Frustrated, she went to another doctor who ran a battery of tests and diagnosed Human Parvovirus B-19. Once she was properly diagnosed, her new doctor was able to help her do what was necessary to fight the virus. It was a long recovery, made worse by Dr. T's misdiagnosis.About the same time, I visited Dr. T. for feelings of depression. After a 5 minute consultation, he put me on Cymbalta - a new antidepressant with a list of side-effects a mile long. He made no effort to figure out whether a safer… drug would be sufficiently effective.In both cases, he seemed more interested at just throwing pharmaceuticals at the problem and hurrying us through as quickly as possible. He's a pretty nice guy, but seems to like to jump to conclusions and doesn't much care whether they're in the patient's best interest.
