Dr. Richard Lane Young, MD

I have had two surgeries by Dr. Young. Rotator cuff and cubital tunnel. He did a great job both times. I have had a 100% recovery and minimal scarring. He makes quick work during appointments but I’m not looking for a friend. I’m interested in getting the best possible care. He does answer all your questions. Just come prepared. His office and nursing staff are very nice and knowledgeable.

Doctor was unwilling to run tests in parallel to diagnose my ailment costing me wasted time and a lot of unneeded pain to address my issue.

No bedside manners. No empathy.good surgeon I think but needs customer service for himself. Seen aliutht better orthos.

Worst experience of my life.... This guy is a quack. Not personable and was all about the money not the welfare of the patient.. Forced surgery without knowing the cause of my condition or doing any sort of tests. I went for a second opion... Would not recommend going here

He examined my leg forcefully and irritated,pushing it way past my comfort level causing severe pain!!And to top it off as soon as he found out i had no insurance he lost interest and blew me off.

Dont go to this dr he is the rudest person i have ever met. No bedside manner, has an ego the size of texas, and all his staff but Tracy is as bad as he is. i had surgery on fri, had complications and had to end up going to primary dr to get help because his staff would not return calls. All he cares about is the bottom line MONEY!! Have another surgery to go but i will cancel and get someone else. I would not take my dog there. He acts superior even though his license has been yanked for dwi's. Did not want to judge the man on his past and that is why i gave him a chance, but let me save u a headache. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I was given printed material to understand my options prior to arthroscopic procedure, but after the procedure I was NOT given appropriate instruction or medical advice to prevent a life-threatening blood clot. When I called for an emergency appointment to find out what was causing the pain, I was told to wait until my scheduled appointment four days later. By that time I needed hospitalization for the clot. I cannot trust such a doctor.

Dr. Young and his staff were very courteous and accommadating. My operation went well as did my physical rehab. Three weeks after the operation I was walking without a cane. I plan to use Dr. Young and the Brunswick Co. Community Hospital again for knee replacement. Both did a great job.
