Dr. Richard William Ziegler, MD

My experience with Dr. Ziegler was poor, at best. When I first visited his office he was quick to assess the situation, basing his comments on the emergency room findings of my fractured arm. I left after scheduling a follow-up visit in three weeks, That evening my hand started to throb and burn with pain, I telephoned Dr. Ziegler's office and scheduled another appointment, specifically for my hand. At the appointment I was given an X-ray of my wrist and a partial hand X-ray. Dr. Ziegler reviewed the X-ray and told me I had a sprained wrist. That evening my hand continued to burn and throb with pain, The next day I called the office and asked that I be given a prescription for Ambien since I had been unable to sleep. I received a message back from the doctor's office that her would not write me a prescription for Ambien, that I should take a pain pill before bed, That night I took the pain pill as suggested, but was still unable to sleep. I called Dr, Ziegler's office once… again and asked for a stronger pain pill. Shortly after my call to the office, my phone rang, it was Dr. Ziegler. His manner with me was rude , uncaring and unprofessional. He yelled at me, saying I should not be asking for stronger medication, but working myself off the current medication. I repeatedly explained to him that the current medication was not giving me enough relief from the pain and that I desperately needed sleep. He said that he remembered I had called about the Ambien, that he would not write a script, but would give me a handful of pills for a stronger medication. I was so shaken by his bullying manner that I vowed to find another doctor to treat me. I can now say that I met with another doctor in a different practice. This time the doctor listened and ordered up a series of new X-rays. He found I have a fracture in one of my metatarsal bones in my hand which explains the intense burning pain. I also have a script for Ambien, finally I will be able to get some rest, Needless to say, I cannot recommend Dr. Ziegler. It is inexcusable that a doctor yell and be abusive to his patients and not listen to their concerns.

Ignorant, pompous, cold fish that needs to learn some kindness and empathy. No smile, just matter of fact clinical jargon. He couldn't get out of the room fast enough onto the next victim.

Horrible.

I've seen some bad doctors but he beats them all. I went to see him after I was told by urgent care I needed to see an ortho for my knee. They suspected I tore my meniscus, I also agreed because them symptoms and how it happened all made sense. I went to see the doctor and the one and only question he asked me about the injury itself happened. He did his physical exam and came back and said well it looks like a sprain take Advil and rest. Come back in 10 days and at that point he'd be willing to investigate further. His theory was based on the amount of fluid. Since he's a doctor you'd think he'd know, not every patient is the same. But I guess not. I saw him on a Friday and went along with what he said. It's Monday and I was in EXCRUCIATING pain all weekend. I called 8am today (Monday) and explained I need to be seen again or I need something for this pain. I can't stand it, I can't sleep and I'm extremely uncomfortable. They said they'd talk to him and come back and tell me what he… says. It took 4 hours for them to return my phone call, which is fine I know they're busy. I get a voicemail from them on my phone saying, follow the treatment plan. It's only been 5 days of course you're going to have symptoms. We'll see you at your follow up in 10 days. I am absolutely livid! I don't expect some hardcore pain meds. I just want something done and to be comfortable. I went to premier ortho before and had nothing but issues, I thought it was just the physician but apparently it's the entire place. I'll be cancelling my follow up with him. I already have an appointment scheduled with another ortho with a different practice. I'm hoping there they will listen to me and relieve me of this awful pain. It's clear that Dr. Ziegler's number one priority is not his patients.
