Dr. Ricky James Placide, MD

Dr.Placide has finally given me hope in 15 years. Of all the numerous doctors I’ve gone to nobody has offered me help or pointed me in the right direction. Just because one test doesn’t show anything wrong doesn’t mean there’s not a problem. Dr. PLACIDE is thorough and kind. He seems very empathetic.

Removed the disk that was pinching a nerve. Very satisfied.

Dr. Placide saw me in his office on a Wednesday, on Friday he operated on my severely compromised spine. He concurred with the diagnosis of another Doctor in his group and quickly made arrangements for the surgery. I had a Staph infection that settled in my spine. He had to remove some of the diseased vertebrae and put in a "cage". Fuse two above and two below that area. He put in rods, screws, etc. A total 7 hr. surgery. When I woke up I was confused but realized I was getting the best care possible at Chippenham Hospital. The Nurses and other Doctors had total respect for Dr. Placide, his work, his persona, and his sense if humor, so important also, to a recovering patient. I had follow-up surgery four months later and I am now getting Physical Therapy of the highest quality, A by suggestion and recommendation by our good Dr. I highly recommend Dr. Placide and his team.

T 2 to L2 fused. Doing well now

I can't understand the negative reviews of this surgeon. I had severe low back and leg pain due to spinal stenosis with spondylolisthesis of L4/L5 spine. Dr. Placide was very thorough & professional before and after surgery. My surgery went extremely well. I was pain free almost immediately after surgery. I am now approximately 1.5 years post surgery and completely pain free.
