Her treatment is ok but not punctual as per her prescribed timing.

She is strange. She gave treatment which was not approve by FDA without informing the family just for her personal experience and caused severe damage to patient. Then sent patient for hospice. She is horrible. Caused my mother death.

For those diagnosed with cancer, we want to make the right choices, the best choices, from the very beginning of this healing journey. A line has been drawn in the sand and making good decisions is essential. My decision to be treated at UCIMC felt natural from the moment I was diagnosed and began my cancer treatment. Why? Here are my personal reasons: UCIMC is a teaching and research facility, so I knew that my treatment would embrace the newest, most-advanced protocols being used on patients. From surgeon to oncologist and nurse to frontline staff, I was treated kindly and as though my life was important to them. UCIMC felt like a medical family to me and I will forever be grateful to Dr. Rita S. Mehta for not only her academic savvy and top-notch intelligence but her sincerity in listening to me. Under her care, I was treated not only as a patient, but as a human being struggling with a life-threatening illness who wanted to live and savor the gift of life.

When you go through treatment and chemotherapy with her be careful and check given chemos, she acts like a 5 star doc but she is not, she caused my disease got much worst and missed one of my scans. She doesn't go as per standard of treatment. She thinks is a researcher and can try everything like a mice on you.

She promissed for new treatments and this way attracted us to go to her but then she said that treatments are not for my case! Meanwhile, she doesn't go as per standarad treatment and wants to try chemos on you without permission. I had chemotherapy and was hospitalized and got infection there.

In today's medical field...it is rare to find a physician with Genuine compassion, care, knowledge, integrety and drive to find a cure. I can honestly say...we have not only found these qualities in Dr. Mehta, but much more! A friend...a physician...a counselor...an encourager...an encyclopedia of information and resources. Someone who I would highly recommend. I fully trust and respect Dr. Mehta and I must say we are blessed she is orchestrating my sisters care of Stage IV IDC since 2012. She is an amazing Dr. And person.

Dr. Mehta spent 2 hours with me on my initial consult. She explained to me that a tumor can have targets that can be targeted with existing medications or with newer promising agents. For example a patient with HER2 positive disease, either by IHC or FISH can benefit from agents like trastuzumab (Herceptin). Upon my asking, she was kind enough to show me her publications on the excellent long term survival of patients with large and inflammatory breast cancer with use of herceptin. I am happy to report that now I am one of those patients.

In all my subconscious childhood I hated hospitals. Therefore as an adult I would rather not find out what or who happened in there. When I learnt I had advanced stage cancer, my reaction was to embrace the inevitability of death. Then I met Dr. Rita Mehta. She so wanted that my tumors be gone that I found myself sucked into fighting this dreadful thing with her . . . keeping all my hospital appointments with a soul felt smile. Her enthusiasm and cheerfulness was so that I didn't want to disappoint her by being a failed case. So here I am today with my cancer in remission. In Dr. Rita Mehta I met an angel of God.
