Dr. Robert Franklin Schuster, MD

I didn't know a Dr could be so rude. My wife, who is blind, was undergoing an endoscopy. After the ~15 minute procedure, he walked into the recovery room for 30 seconds and says "your wife has an ulcer and will need surgery." Then he quickly walked out without another comment. I wanted to ask a few questions. So I ask the nurse to bring him back into the room. He comes into the room, and with each simple question, he says "I will talk about this with you and your wife later when you have your follow-up appointment." He refused to answer and seemed annoyed that I was asking. So, I said, "We will both be at the follow-up appointment but I want to get a couple of answers now, and you should be able to do that." He RESPONDED with "Are you being hostile? Are you being threatening?" And then he responded with "I think you should find another provider!!!" I can't believe how incredulous this "Dr" is and how RUDE he is. As someone who is supposed in a place of authority and who we would depend… on to treat my wife, he demonstrates an absolute disregard for the real care and well-being of his patients and no one in my family will ever be seeing this Crock again.

I find him to be rude,unprofessional, inconsiderate, and pompous! About 8 months ago I was supposed to have a colonoscopy and a gde. Got to St Luke's to have the procedure done after waiting 4 hours in pre- op for the Schuster to show up I find out they will not let me have the procedure done because they would not allow me to take a Lyft or an Uber home after the procedure! I was never TOLD I couldn't do this prior by the Schuster or his staff! then Schuster Acts like it is my fault!!! Miss 3 days work for nothing.. went back to schedule the procedure again and he would not even come in to speak to me. I would not trust him to do a colonoscopy on an animal.

I went to this doctor for abdominal hernia he did the surgery after my surgery I noticed there was a big indentation in my side where he did the robotic surgery when I went back in for my follow-up I voice my concerns and told him that this was very uncomfortable and was not right he said I was just fine it happens a lot of times if you lose some weight you won't have this problem no more and here is being approximately 9 months after my surgery with him and now I have another hernia where he did the surgery I would never recommend this person he is a cut doctors that's all he could care less about how you feel or that you know that something was wrong that he did I would not recommend him to a dog

I had a gastric sleeve done by in and it was the best decision I ever made. I had previously had a lap band done by WLIA and it was a mess. I wish I had gone here first. What a night and day difference. Also, thanks Emile.??

I have had 3 surgeries with Dr. Schuster in the last 18 months. He has excellent bedside manner and is a complete professional, He is caring and listens and answers all of your questions. I trust his surgical experience tremendously. Especially because he has had to make judgements when my insides were more complicated than others. I have always felt safe and completely confident in his care. I would HIGHLY recommend him and the staff at Bridges/St. Luke's.

He actually saved my life when ï was in gateway hospital in Mesa. He was the one doc who knew exactly what was wrong with me. � recommend him highly for abdominal surgery.

He is arrogant, pompous, and has no people skills. Stay away.

Dr. Schuster is not one who cares about the patient. He is in it purely for the money. I had several appointments with him, and his manner is always codecending and seems to be annoyed that we dare have issues. In my appointments I companied of pain and discomfort, however he denotes no such indications in his notes. I know because the insurance company responded to my request with his notes saying he said you were perfect and not mention of pain or medication. He is incredibly absent minded or just cruel. He even asked me, with my wife present, if I needed more pain meds and I replied no I still had half a bottle left at home, yet he writes in his notes that I had no pain and needed no pain meds, which is false. I had pain and was on pain meds, but just because I did not request more does not mean I was not taking them and if I had not said I was in pain, why would he ask if I needed more pain meds, although he documented that i should not return to work for another week, so… why would he write that note and his offices notes not reflect the accuracy of the visit? I am seriously disappointed with the service and quality of care received by Rob Schuster. I should have known from the day I met him when I was admitted into the hospital, that he was a money hungry assembly line type of surgeon. All he cared about was lining up patients to operate on. Banner Gateway should seriously look at dropping him. I tried several times to set a follow-on appointment to discuss the accuracy of his notes and the continued pain in my abdomen, but they never returned my calls or addressed my concerns.

This Dr is an excellent surgeon
