Dr. Robert David Ashley, MD

Dr. Ashley belongs to UCLA and its very difficult to reach him or anyone on the staff for help. Not a good place to go unless your healthy and do not need follow up care. Had to click one star to post this comment but otherwise I would not even click one star.

I have nothing bad to say about Dr. Ashley as I have only seen him two times since moving to Santa Monica from out of state. He seems to be a caring doctor and goes above and beyond for his patients. Office does not respond to my mail order pharmacy requests, though. Therefore, I have to ask for paper prescriptions if using the mail order pharmacy.

Dr. Ashley took over for my doctor who retired. And I am delighted to say that it was a step up. Dr. Ashley is nice, cheerful, very knowledgeable, patient and seeks to understand and care for me. He involves me in whatever treatment is appropriate, endeavoring to make sure I understand the physical functions at hand. I like what I consider to be his conservative approach to prescribing medications. I'm 68 and don't take any; I consider myself quite blessed in that regard. He'd say 'thank your parents'. I have recommended to several friends and I have heard glowing comments from them.

Dr. Ashley has been my primary care physician for years, and he is the best. He spends plenty of time with you, has a great working knowledge of the body, explains things carefully, and is open to his patients' use of alternative medicine in conjunction with western medicine. I couldn't be happier with him as a primary care physician!

Dr. Ashly has been my Doctor for at least 7 years. I have a serious auto immune disorder. Due to his dilligence he was able to diagnose and begin treating me. He is very patient and answers all of the ques. I have and address my many concerns

This doctor seems very young amongst his peers but I find him to be very bright. I have gone to him for over 5 years now and still have not changed doctors despite moving to the valley. Every time I do go for a visit I am always impressed, especially with his listening skills..a very attentive person. He also has never let me down on specialist referrals. I would recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr. Ashley, although relative young, has the proven qualities to continue on that rare pathway of becoming a great doctor. He is attentive, caring, kwoledgeagble, with impeccaable bedside manners and a health dose of empathy. His down-to-earth style belies his clear and complete understanding of the trajectory of general medicince. I know all this because I have been his patienct for some 5 years and have had to see for a number of issues. Lastly, his staff are well trained, helpful, and laid back, but professional.
