Dr. Robert Alan Becker, PhD

I saw Dr. Becker a few times when I was around 13-14 and going through a lot. The first 2-3 appointments were alright, we would sit and he would let me talk through things and he would ask me a couple questions. Nothing major. Then, my mom dropped me off for a weekly appointment and I sat on Dr. Becker's chair after a particularly tough week. I started talking about what had happened and started to cry. I looked up from the tears to see Dr. Becker CHECKING HIS IPHONE. He proceeded to text, not looking up from his phone, for the next 45 MINUTES, only mumbling a "...sorry..." once, while a 13 year old sat there staring at him, with tears in their eyes. I left his office and texted my mom to come pick me up, thinking that my problems were not important enough to get him away from his phone screen. Changed the way I felt about seeing psychologists forever. Horrible way to treat a young patient. DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.
