said my chest pain was stress, turned out it was not. Dismissive and condescending, I have never received such little help from a doctor.

I was referred to UNC rheumatology after I had a positive ANA test and joint pain. He walked into the room sure that nothing was wrong with me, and said "A doctor told you you had a positive ANA so you got it into your head that you had joint pain." He told me he would "fall over" if any of my lab testing came back abnormal. After a huge ordeal trying to get the results of my lab tests (the office is extremely unprofessional - it is a huge hassle trying to talk to any of them, and everything has to go through a secretary. Would be much more helpful to talk to somebody who actually had a clue what they are talking about), I WAS finally diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that was causing my symptoms. This doctor made me feel crazy and stupid for going in to see him, and made me even question myself! Total jerk - would NEVER recommend him to ANYBODY. I will definitely be seeking care elsewhere for my rheumatology appointments in the future. Don't waste your time with this guy.

I too was referred to Dr. Berger by my Duke Primary Physician. The first visit was good, we had good conversation, he explained things to me and I felt comfortable with him. After that I give him a F+ for a grade. He sent in a fellow who I could not even understand as he was Indian or something. I kept telling this guy I could not understand him. Finally he left and Dr. Berger came in for a few minutes. After that I changed to a dr. at another location. I would never go back to Dr. Berger. I wanted to get off of OR cut down on some meds and he would not discuss. Not treated as I should of been.

I was referred to Dr.Berger, as one of the bet. Well now after almost a year under his care, I am having a serious reaction to Humira and I am unclear as to what is going to happen to me, because Dr. Berger although he has not phsyically seen me thinks that this is normal psorisis and I should go ahead and take another Humira shot. It looks like I am not the first patient to feel like his ego is bigger then his compassion. Thank you for nothing Dr.B, I hope you enjoy your next sabatical while I am in the hospital unable to walk.

I was referred to Dr. Berger after a positive ANA and also severe symptoms of suspected Lupus. He didn't take any time with me and listened to himself. He implied I asked to see him instead of having been referred to him, told me right away I, "wouldn't get MRI(ed)" implying I was a treatment seeker. He told me he wasn't going to do further testing. None. I can't bend my knee & is very painful, but he first said nothing was wrong with it. Age he said. (I'm only 47). Finally, he did give a diagnosis, but it is not correct and he didn't do x-rays. He had the entire time interrupted me every time I tried to talk, said my lungs look great and nothing was wrong, (I have emphysema). I told him I disagreed with him and that was it. He threw my papers on the table and was walking out. I thought we might have a conversation about a plan and he would make a referral for Aqua-therapy, but instead, he was so incredibly callous, that I ended up calling him a jerk. He said, "You're a jerk too." What… a guy! He told me that I can't do anything about disagreeing with him because I am poor. It was humiliating. I think he has great almighty confidence in his ability to diagnose people without doing anything but look at them. If you have an invisible illness, stay far away from this doctor! If you are poor, stay away. Also, he doesn't seem to like angry women.

What a HUGE waste of both time and money! I felt like he didn't listen to anything I said and kept interrupting and trying to convince me of what he thought was wrong. He was very quick to jump to conclusions, which ended up all being wrong. Very disappointing. Waited over an hour to see him for a scheduled visit. Will not return.

What a quack!!!
