Dr. Robert Charles Blackwood, MD

Dr. Blackwood is the best doctor around! Three generations of my family see him. He shows he cares. He takes time to answer all questions and ensures we understand. He also opened on the weekend to give more opportunity to be seen! When my child was an infant, he would see him THAT DAY if he was sick! Dr. Blackwood is the best!

I have been a patient since Dr. Blackwood began his practice. He has always listened and carefully diagnosed before prescribing a remedy. On the rate occasions that he is unable to provide a diagnosis he has ordered the necessary tests to identify the issue. He literally saved my life in 2017 but doggedly pursuing a diagnosis for my severe abdominal pain. It turned out I had a type of cancer that is rately diagnosed in time to treat. Thank you Dr. Blackwood!

When it turns out I shredded a disc in my back he refused to get me an mri and offered no meds or help -just kept charging me for unhelpful visits. Finally got a new doctor who cared and got the surgery and recovery I needed. Don’t recommend this dr at all!

I have been a patient of Dr. Blackwood for over 20 years. He is very thorough and caring. He spends the proper amount of time with me as a patient and truly cares about my health and my family. He is not only my doctor, but also a great friend. He schedules regular blood work and physicals because he wants to stay on top of any changes in my health. Ive read other posts stating "greed" . Could not be further from the truth! I trust Dr. B and you should too!

I and my husband have been going to Dr Blackwood for 25 years... Our grandson had a reaction to a med... He called followed up by calling and making sure everything was good.....Dr Blackwood is very attentive and will be close by day or night......he saved my husbands life....paying such awesome skills that got him a call that said he needed to go to ER and Now!!!! I see Sharon Rhodes, who works for Dr. Blackwood. The staff is nice.. but they make you pay a copay everytime. If you have two issues they make you schedule two seperate appointments for them. They always want a test or lab done no matter what. Which costs more money.. and then they always want you to pay AGAIN for a follow up on whatever it was you were in there for to begin with. This just doesn't make sense to me at all. They never handle anything over the phone. Don't see this doctor. I will be looking for someone new ASAP. MONEY HUNGRY.

Dr. Blackwood is an excellent physician as well as diagnostician. I feel the care I receive is similar to what I'd get in one of the high priced concierge practices. His staff is professional and I can always get in to see him quickly.

Very bad in this economy charging patient each visit even to pick report, have to pay copayment. Also pressurizing to get physical, blood work, etc. even if person is in financial crunch. Too greedy. Shame that medicine practice going down in this country .

I have recently moved to Virginia Beach and was worried about finding a good family doctor as I had known my previous doctor for over 30 years. Dr Blackwood and his practice have fulfilled what I was looking for. They take time with you and actually get to know you. I have seen both doctors and was very satisfied with each of them. You are a person to them and not just a chart. They also have great office hours being opened in the evenings and on Saturdays and have same day appointments available. I have never waited longer than 10-15 min often shorter than that. Can't begin to say how pleased I am with them.

I have been a patient of this practice for more than two years. I attempted to schedule an appointment for two issues but was told that I had to have an appointment for each issue. I scheduled two appointments. His office staff called me and chastised me for not taking care of both issues. I then received a letter from Dr. Blackwood dismissing me from his practice.
