Dr. Robert Arthur Bonner, MD

Dr Bonner himself is ok but his office manager is very Lazy and unprofessional. They don't file claims to insurance correctly and will claim you owe money when really your insurance covers it. They didn't file my claims correctly to either of my insurance and since I refused to pay to see the doctor (I know my insurance will cover it) she canceled my appt so she could fax the claims correctly. Its really sad because I would continue to see him if it was not for her.

He did a thorough exam, since my Primary didn't state a reason for this referral, other than a slightly low blood sodium. He then ordered special blood tests and a return apt in four weeks.

Went in to see Dr. Bonner for a Thyroid test to have a biopsy for cancer on the right side of my thyroid. It did not get done. Instead he tested my sugar because I am a diabetic. When I asked him why there is a tumor on the right side of my thyroid because I only have half on the left, he just laughed and couldn't answer the question. Also stated that Lab Quest could do the biopsy which was a lie.

Staff is terrible to deal with. Never returns phone calls, rude on phone and in person, does not respond to refill requests. Dr. Bonner is nice and seems competent but it's not worth having to deal with his incompetent staff support.

I have been seeing Dr. Bonner for several years for treatment of my type I diabetes. Last year, my insulin pump broke and I needed a new one. It was extremely difficult to get the doctor or his staff to process the necessary paperwork needed for approval of a new pump. While waiting, I had to go on a fast and long acting insulin given via injections and my blood sugars were out of control. Then, this year, I have requested to be placed on a Continous Blood Glucose Monitoring system 3 times and they still have not completed the orders for that system. In addition, I am preparing for Lap Band Weight Loss surgery and the only thing holding up that procedure is clearance from Dr. Bonner. I have been into see him and he verbally cleared my for the surgery but despite 4 requests from me and 2 from the weight loss center, they have not faxed over his written clearance for the surgery. In addition to all of this, it has always been extremely difficult to get prescription refills in a timely… manner.
