Dr. Robert Lee Brownlow, MD

I have been treated by several competent retina Specialists, but their ability or inclination to relate To the emotional or fear factor of the patient was Non existent. I saw one Dr on a Tues( I had been His patient for years) and found out from the check-out staff that Fri would be his last day before his retirement. Guess how much he cared About the welfare of his patients. I left the practice! Dr Broadlow has been open with information Regarding my condition and kind in terms of any Concerns I may have about the procedures. I feel Confident that he is a caring person as well as a Competent Dr. Miriam Smith

I had to wait over 45 minutes to get to a room then another 20 minutes before I saw the Dr for all of 5 minutes. They way overbook patients and can't spend any time with them. After my problem was solved he said he wanted to see me again in a few months "just to see how things are". In other words, "So I can collect your co-pay and charge your insurance company for a non essential visit"

I will forever be grateful to Dr. Brownlow and his staff! I went into his office nervous and anxious, but left feeling comfortable! I greatly appreciated all the time he spent explaining my condition and treatment options to me. His credentials are outstanding and I am blessed that I got referred to him and his practice!

Knowledge excellent, wait time very excessive. They should better manage the appt times so patients don't have to sit hours at the time waiting to be seen.

I was not happy with this practice & left a couple of months ago. The doctor was careless with the health of my eyes & regret ever stepping into his office. Save yourself from this practice & seek another retinal specialist!

My father saw this Doctor for treatment of glaucoma and received terrible care.He performed a series of injections(for the money) that did not help. There was no follow up and he developed pressure so high in that eye that he lost his eyesight.When he went back back to seee this Dr he was unconcerned and told my Mom to get an appointment herself with a specialist.When he finally saw the specialist he was told that he should have been referred there months ago.This is terrible treatment and totally unaccetable.This Dr would think differently if this was HIS Father.

This MD is a true gentleman who cares about his patients like no other MD I have ever experienced. Highly recommended. In addition, he has superlative training and his ability is unsurpassed.

The office seemed to be very unorganized. My appointment was resceduled four times. Two times it was on the day of the appointment. I got frustrated and told them to forget about it and call me back when they had their act together. So far no call back

I was diagnosed with POHS several years back (when Dr Brownlow was still in Roanoke, VA), and I went through quite a few eye surgeries before the leaking vessels stopped with submac surgery at Duke. But Dr Brownlow was always right by my side, comforting me, I really don't know how I would've made it through without him. He was always there to reassure me that it would be okay and to explain everything to me. He's the best and I'd switch back to him in a heartbeat if he moved back to Roanoke! Thanks for everything!

I had a great experience with this kind and loving man. He is dedicated to his practice and his patients.
