Dr. Robert Benjamin Chadband, MD

Dr Chadband tells it like it is. He has helped my husband's and I understand how Diabetes works. Having great success, thanks to Dr Chadband.

My wife had an appointment with Dr. Chadband this morning, so I took off work, found childcare, and drove an hour to see him. When we arrived, we were told that the doctor doesn't treat my wife's specific case and that they had tried to call an hour before. When we got home, we noticed on the caller id that they had tried to call 20 minutes before her appointment. When my wife called to leave a message stating (calmly) that she didn't appreciate being lied to, she almost immediately got a call back from a nurse. Upon explaining her frustration, my wife was told by the nurse "you're not going to get rude with me!" so she ended the conversation. This lead to a call back from the doctor himself, who started that when he checked his chart this morning, he determined my wife was fine and there was no reason to see her. Not only did they try to blame her GP, but they treated her like she was a burden. At the very least they could have saved us the work leave, the childcare fees,… and the drive by checking my wife's chart anytime during the month her appointment was scheduled.

I had seen Dr. Chadband since I was a teenager. He spends a great deal of time with each patient. He is very personable and caring.

He's an altogether a brilliant physician.

I've been going to Dr. Chadband every 3 mo. for over 11 years and he is a wonderful doctor. Don't blame the rudeness of his office staff on him. He didn't hire them. The hospital did. He is extremely knowledgable and caring. If you follow the rules he gives you to keep you healthy, you shouldn't have a problem with him. He is only looking out for you. If I need a specialist in another area, I always trust him to send me to the best and he has. He is my favorite doctor and I would trust him with my life. He's the one who found my thyroid cancer several years ago or I would have never known. He sent me to an excellent surgeon, had it taken out and no problems since. If you need a great endocrinologist or diabetes doctor, in my opinion, he's the one.

Steer clear of this doctor!! His staff is extremely rude and incompetent! It takes forever to get an appointment and once you do get in, prepared to have your appointment canceled and rescheduled multiple times before you are ever seen. He doesn't follow up on blood tests he asks you to have run. He is dismissive and often misses important information because he just doesn't listen. The MOST frustrating thing is that he doesn't even have admitting privileges at any of the local hospitals. If you are sick and need to be admitted to the hospital, plan on sitting in the ER until they decide whether to admit you. Please save yourself the time and frustration and AVOID this doctor at all costs!!!

Dr. Chadband is now on Vann Road in Trussville. It is impossible to get his office to do even the simplest things, such as send a routine prescription to the local CVS. This took me several phone calls and two trips to the doctor's office FOR ONE PRESCRIPTION. Clerks at two local CVS's said that they have had exactly the same experience with other patients who have tried to deal with this office. I strongly advise against trying to deal with this office, which is unfortunate because Dr. Chandband was nice and knowledgeable.

The last two visits, the office staff has been extremely discourteous.
