Dr. Robert William Chisholm, MD

It seems i am not the only one who has had a terrible experience with this man. He should not be allowed to practice with all of their terrible reviews out there explaining not only his incompetence, but also his utter lack of professionalism and probably the worst bedside manner I’ve ever encountered. I will preface this by saying I am a young 20 something aged woman with rainbow hair, tattoos, and a lot of medical anxiety. It is hard enough being taken seriously by doctors but when I come to an emergency room in distress I don’t think I’m out of line for expecting to not only be taken seriously but also treated professionally. This doctor shrugged off all of the symptoms I was trying to explain in favor of INSISTING all my problems were caused by my medical marijuana consumption for anxiety (mind you this is before he has run ANY tests, examinations, or even touched me ) when I began to have an anxiety attack about the way I was being dismissed YET AGAIN while in a state of distress… ON TOP OF the pain and discomfort caused by my symptoms, this doctor began to degrade me for my anxiety, telling me my behavior was UNNATURAL and calling me crazy. Imagine telling a young girl, in pain, clearly distressed and anxious that she is acting unnaturally and needs to get it together. (I’m quite calm when spoken to like a human being by the way) he continued to hurl insults at me as the nurses tried to calm me down and I demanded another doctor. He refused to give me his name however a nurse was kind enough to write it down for me. It seems his fellow staff are well aware of his poor bedside manner. People come to the ER when they don’t know what else to do and they need help. They should not have to be worried about being dismissed, rushed diagnosis, or being talked down to due to what I would consider valid anxiety in a distressing situation. This doctor needs to either stop practicing or attend some courses on how to properly talk to patients. I will be taking my complaints as high as I can go.

Words can not express the anger I have towards this physician. I had brought in my 11 month old daughter in for a falling accident and right from the start his bedside manner was rude and demeaning. His false accusations caused a long recovery for my family that should have never happened. I pray to God that this so called physician never has the opportunity to dramatically ruin anyone else’s life.

I have seen Dr.Chisholm twice at MMH ER. He is incompetent. I went once to the ER because of severe neck pain. He x-rayed my chest but not my neck. Her kept asking me what was causing my pain. I thought HE was supposed to at least try to figure that out. How could he if he didn't order the right tests? I saw him again last Monday. He began his treatment of me by refusing to tell me his name. Once again he didn't order the right test - in fact, he didn't order any test. He's a danger to any patient who ends up in his care at the ER. As long as he is employed at MMH, find a different hospital.

A 6 year old was at school and fell off of the monkey bars this child had a broken arm and elbow. Dr. Chisholm obviously didn't care about this precious child, he took the patients arm to rotate and set it, when he noticed the elbow was not in place he just left it, 1/2 inch displaced with a break at the growth plate. The elbow was discovered when the patient went for a one week check up with the orthopedic doctor the patients parents chose. At the visit the nurse at the doctors asked if there had been any complaints. Yes, the patient had complained about the elbow so the nurse took an X-ray of it. When the doctor saw it he sent the patient and family straight to the hospital. The patient is very fortunate that the broken elbow didn't cut a major artery and cause death. It is very disturbing that a person can be smart enough to complete a medical program and become a doctor that people come to in an emergency. Dr. Chisholm is their only choice. In school this doctor learned… early on how to set a broken arm, ALWAYS ALWAYS checking the joint above and below to make sure he can pull and rotate the arm to set it. This family was very fortunate, the child could have died, but didn't. Would you want to go to the emergency room to find the doctor the hospital has hired can so easily overlook such a obvious break, potentially causing death?

Dr. Chisholm saved my sons life. I thank the lord we were blessed with this talented doctor and amazing staff during such a frightening time for my family. I highly recommend him and the entire staff at Midland hospital.

This Doctor has no sympathy or proper bedside manner. He gives the wrong diagnosis and prescribes the wrong medication that can cause serious damage to his patients. He does not give the consideration of sitting down and explaining the problems/condition of the patient. I do NOT recommend this Doctor to anyone. Silverton Hospital needs to reconsider having this doctor under their employment.
