Dr. Robert Scott Davis, MD

I am a RN whose has 3 cervical disc surgery that went very well with a now retired physician over 15 years ago and never had any issues with pain or neck issues until 3 weeks ago, I started having sudden sharp pain with up and down motion down back of neck with looking down and up with crunching sound. I had an x-rays done and referred to Dr. Davis. The visit was horrible, I felt like he was laughing at me and telling me there was nothing wrong with me that I had arthritis in my neck. I asked what I could do about it and he said to take Ibupropen. I told him I couldn't take it because it upsets my stomach so he told me to take tylenol and I told him I have been taking tylenol for 3 weeks since this has happened and it's not working. I asked about celebrex because I have taken that in the past. He asked if I had any and I said No if he could prescribe me some. I told him I don't take pain meds because I don't tolerate them well either. He refuse to order Celebrex which is an… anti-inflammatory med. I felt like he took my $50 dollar co pay and I was screwed and didn't even enjoy it. I know his nurse and she stated he refuses to order any medications for anyone. I would not take my dead dog to him and I was an OR nurse for 18 years, I would not let someone like that touch me. First impression are everything and his was a rotten impression and bed side manners stink and I'm being nice.

Had a surgery done by this Doc I Durango, Co in Feb of 2016. Started having back pain again about 8 months after surgery. Pain continued to get worse and had some steroid injections etc. This Doctor left his practice in Durango in2017 under somewhat different cicumstances. I've been told he's practicing now in Missippi. After two very recent visits to the ER and new MRI and X-rays. This may have been a botched surgery and will be having emergency surgery to repair the area this coming week. This doctor has no bedside manner whatsoever and in my humble opinion could care less. Stay as far away from him as you can??

NO CHANCE THIS DR WOULD BE ALLOWED BY ME TO OPERATE ON MY DOG. He had me walk across office on tip toes, looked in my mouth, talked about his hiking adventures, asked 4 questions I had answered in detail of the office forms as had not looked at all at the forms. Only works til noon and told me he could not operate on me since I was on oxygen and I would just have to live with the pain. 10+ pain for years. Yeah right! Don't waste your time or your money!

I had a good surgery, but dr.davis is not a good aftercare doctor. HE is actually the worst i have been too. HE cares nothing for making a person comfortable and i may report him to the state board. He shouldn't be a doctor. His receptionist said that after surgery he doesn't give his patients painkillers, because he wants to see his patients in pain. Well because of that, i had a failed back surgery. Those were his words! I advise nobody to go to him. -2 stars!

My low back had been hurting more following a spine fusion that a spine surgeon did here in Durango. I was so fed up with their lack of care that I went to see Dr. Davis. He view my MRI and was able to find exactly why I continued to have pain. After a surgery he "cleaned up" what the other doctor did not do and I have been pain free since. I would highly recommend him for a surgeon and should have taken the advice of others and gone to him first instead of some other egotistical local Md.

I was extremely satisfied with my care under Dr. Davis, my neck was fused and I really felt better almost immediately. No uncomfortable neck brace to wear, no long term pain. very gental with me. I would recommend a neuro surgeon instead of an orthopedic surgeon for any surgery of the spine.

I had an laminectomy he gave me great odds with the surgery 85% chance of being better felt great for 3 months after that I got worse. I went back he told me sorry you fell in the 15% of getting worse and said there was nothing else he could do for me and wouldn't see me no more. My advise to anyone stay away from this Doctor.

Wouldnt let this dr operate on my dog. Ruined my quality of life. Wouldnt even face me after the surgery. Messed up my neck so bad it took a great surgeon four hours to fix his mess. I would avoid this quack at all costs.

He did two surgeries on my back, 5 years apart. The first surgery was fine. The second surgery left me in much worse shape than I was before the surgery. He did not offer any help-he basically acted like it was my fault that the surgery did not go well. He is very arrogant and uncaring. I would not recommend him to anyone. I have never seen any doctory who cared less about the results of the surgery.

My back was worse after my surgery than it was before my surgery. He offered no excuses or solutions.
