Dr. Robert Jay Echenberg, MD

I believe that the controlled substance that I was prescribed gave me so many more issues than what I initially went to see him for. I do not agree with prescribing these to patients and I honestly had no idea how devastating the impact of that prescription would be to my life. I also don’t understand why, as a patient, he never called me back about my concern.

Dr. E is the best of the best. He diagnosed my IC in 2009 after I'd seen about 6 other doctors about the same issue. He helped me out when no other doctor could or would. He's the most caring doctor I've ever met, and probably one of the kindest humans I've ever known overall. He also spends time with patients. Other offices have only 30 minute appointments, even for first time patients-he sometimes takes a whole afternoon for a new patient appointment. He puts a lot of value on educating his patients so they can learn more about their ailments, become experts on their own conditions and be their own best advocates for their health. Other doctors can learn from the way he practices-it works! As you can tell, I truly can't recommend him highly enough!

Dr. Eckenberg put me on a medication that I believe has caused me to have so many issues. I called the office to explain and not once did he ever return my call or reach out in consideration. I wish I had explored more options before taking his advice.

I was astounded at how caring, compassionate and understanding this physician was. I had tried many doctors, and most of them had never heard of my conditions, let alone know how to approach and treat them. Dr. Echenberg was not only a specialist, he had extensive experience in treating these conditions. Not only that, my husband was encouraged to be present throughout our first visit, so as to learn enough to be my coach during my healing process. I give this doctor 5 stars, unreservedly.

You can't find another Dr like him. Knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. He will help you figure out what is wrong and lead you on a path for recovery.

I was sent to this office to see if there was a problem with my pelvic floor. I had 3 c sections and had a lot of pain on left side. Dr. E was very confident in telling me i had a bladder Disease that he is the only Dr. around who knew of this and how to treat it. After a lot of poking and prodding, he let me know that not only do I have a bladder disease i had a crooked labia and he prescribed me cream that would fix it. Tons of meds prescribed and adult sized catheter to a sensitive bladder was less than ideal. When i had questions I was spoken to like i have no idea what my body feels and needs. I don't recommend. I found a world renowned dr at penn who his only specialty was bladder .

Dr. Echenberg saved me from the maze of doctors I had been seeing. He treated me, knew straight away the problem & solution. His empathy for women surpasses empathy from women to women! (He has more). There really isn't much he doesn't know. He's seen all corners of the world. There isn't much he hasn't seen, so don't have fear to go. Nohing is "too strange or embarrassing." I have more faith in him than combining five DR.'s together. He's your guy!!!

For over 10 years I saw several doctors for a unbearable pain I would call a pinch, that would come on randomly and suddenly and keep me off my feet for days. No one had a clue what it was and I had injections and other painful experiments performed for it. Nothing helped and I never knew when it would strike again. Dr. Echenberg was just a Godsend! In 2006 I saw his advertisement in a newspaper and decided to make the appointment. After our consult and exam he suspected it was a large diverticulum of the urethra. He sent me for ultrasounds which confirmed that it was. Then he highly recommended a urologist who performed the delicate surgery. I have been pain free since. I am not kidding about the high ratings in his office either. Nothing but a good experience there. I cannot thank him enough!
