Dr. Robert James Fieldman, MD

Simply put Dr. Fieldman is an incompetent surgeon. I suspect he is bipolar. Would you want him operating on you on one of his “off” days?

I was sent to Dr. Fieldman after have a sinus infection that wouldn’t go away. He was very unhelpful and dismissive. When I told him that my ears were producing so much wax my headphones were falling out he responded, “maybe you need to get new headphones.” The initial meeting was frustrating enough given that I’ve been dealing with these symptoms for months, then after getting a cat scan of my sinuses done his assistant calls me to say that he thinks they are clear and I should go to a neurologist If I still have symptoms... For a specialist to try to push you off on to another dr is absurd! Very upset with the treatment from Dr. Fieldman, will be sending my cat scan to another ENT to consult.

Don't expect this guy to come forward and admit he botched your surgery. He will protect himself and leave you to suffer!

Recently visisted this doctor. He was very attentive and listened to my every concern, which have been missing lately with doctors. He made me feel like his patient and not a number.

This guy can't cut his own nails without committing malpractice. His practice should be limited to prisoners and welfare recipients!

Dr. Fieldman really listened to me and ordered an MRI of my brain - which led him to suggest a neurologist. More tests and I found I have blood clots in my brain - all undetected by my primary as the cause of a month long series of headaches!!

Dr. Fieldman was the physician on call who returned my call. I had been waiting all day for a return call from my treating physician who was backed up in surgeries. I immediately thanked Dr. Fieldman for returning my call, but he seemed angry and acerbic from the first minute. I assured him I would be brief out of respect for his time. and very succinctly started to debrief him regarding my condition and the reason for my concern. After seconds, he cut me off and said, "I thought you would said you'd be brief." Cruel and condescending are the only words that comes to mind. I had waited all day for a call back, and instead of listening to the facts, he chose instead to interrupt me and erroneously allege that I had been in contact with the office "all day." This cynical and rude behavior defied credulity. Why did he even bother to return my call just to be mean? He cut me off repeatedly and never allowed me to ask my question. There is no excuse for this kind of… disaffection and arrogance in a doctor. If he had simply taken a minute to listen, he could have addressed my question in one or two sentences and allayed my fears. Instead, he chose to let me hang with anxiety and uncertainty for another night until I can contact my treating physician the next day. This is behavior unbecoming a physician. If he didn't want to be disturbed from his evening activities, he shouldn't be taking calls from anxious patients with symptomatic health issues.

Robert Fieldman is a *very* competent ENT surgeon, if you must pick one, pick him!

My own primary care physician recommended Dr. Fieldman because of a severe sore throat and laryngitis. Despite a odd negative review my doctor and he agreed to a walk in office visit. The staff could not have been more supportive, friendly and efficient. I expected to wait, of course, and did so for about 45 minutes, but what the heck! The doctor was pleasant, concerned, knowledge and proficient in what he did for me. Great examination, wonderful bedside manner, and accurate diagnosis after much testing. I could not have been more grateful and pleased. All my expectations were met. He faxed the prescription to my druggist and medicine was waiting for me when I arrived shortly thereafter. His wall is adorned with dozens of "best doctor in NJ" plagues. Can you beat that?
