Dr. Robert Lawrence Figueroa, MD

I would not recommend Dr. Figueroa to anyone. His medical approach is truly unhelpful and lackluster. Of all the times I have visited Dr. Figueroa, he was not able to assist meaningfully once. Even for a general practitioner, he exhibits a profoundly basic understanding of his field. In other words, 2 academic papers on a specific topic would give you infinitely more knowledge than Dr. Figueroa has on any specific medical topic. During my last visit with Dr. Figueroa, he was condescending and unprofessional. I have known Figueroa for many years and referred to him only as “Figueroa” at the beginning of the appointment. At this point, he became volatile and told me this was very disrespectful and to only call him Doctor Figueroa. He did so in a condescending and demeaning manner that left me baffled. Due to the way he handled this issue, I contemplated walking out. I decided to stay in case he could be of any assistance. As usual, he was of none at all. Dr. Figueroa is not a kind… person, and I hesitate to even call him mediocre. Please do not waste any of your time with Dr. Figueroa. He is as rude as he is useless.

My fiancé and I just moved to Delaware and she needed a refill of birth control prescription. She called as she normally does to request it and randomly they have decided to deny it until she sees Dr. Figueroa for a check up visit. He has been prescribing her this for 2 years without a checkup appointment and just randomly decided to stop now. She told him that she made an appointment here in Delaware but the earliest she could make it for is 3 weeks away. She told him this and he still refused to fill the prescription, even enough to get her by until her appointment in Delaware. She is now going to be off birth control for 3 weeks because he decided he cares about money from office visits more than his patients health. Im glad she will be getting a new doctor. it would have been nice if he gave her a warning on her last refill that he would not give her another until she saw him.

Following up on hospital visit and never discussed results of tests or how I was doing. i was in and out in less than 4 minutes, no exaggeration. I was charged over $100 for nothing .

Dr. Figueroa always takes the time to listen to all symptoms and problems. After he makes a diagnosis he always asks if you have questions. If you do, he takes the time to hear you out. Even on days when he might have more than a full load of patients, he doesn't let that affect his care for you as a patient.
