Dr. Frachtman is a caring and personable physician. Interaction with Dr. Frachtman and his staff is always a pleasure -- they are friendly, thoughtful and professional.

As a patient with a most rare condition, achalasia, he worked with me for several years as researchers at the UWM and John Hopkins pursued a “fix” for the complications of the disease. He cared for me and took a great interest in my case. Prior to seeing him I could not find a doctor in the southwest that knew what I was suffering from for an extended period of time. He was caring, kind knowledgeable, and cared genuinely about the doctor patient relationship. As a result of his efforts with me, I was able To get the best treatment possible for my incurable disease. I feel blessed that our paths crossed and then I had the opportunity to be in is excellent care it is made all the difference in my life.

I have been a long term patient of Dr. Frachtman's. He is excellent. Conservative and thoughtful - he does consider all facets of procedure or therapy before recommending to the patient. I have had multiple test procedures on a frequent basis (colonoscopies, EDG, etc) He has done an excellent job each time. Can't say enough good things about him.

I was having acute abdominal pain and Dr. Frachtman worked me into his busy schedule. This save me from going to ER and having a CT scan. That is so unusual to call a Dr. and get in to see them that day.

I first met Dr. Frachtman when I was a nurse working in one of the hospitals. He has an excellent reputation with nurses. Then I knew him as a patient. He is wonderful! He is kind and considerate and very supportive (a rare finding in a specialist). As a family nurse practitioner, he is my first choice for my patients.

The office staff is exceptionally bad in this practice. Although Dr. Frachtman is a very nice man who seems to know his stuff, I was put off by the bizarre hoops of my first visit. First, a barely passable nurse who took vitals and explained the procedure. Secondly, a PA who was kind but not doing much more than the nurse. Finally, the Dr. who did take time with me. THEN, they wanted me to sit in a chair and wait for the "scheduler" to call me back. After spending an hour already, I said no thank you. The personnel is so off-putting, I sought another office

I had a PROFOUNDLY NEGATIVE experience with Dr. Frachtman when I was extremely ill and in extreme physical distress. He was rude, abrasive, and callous in tone and demeanor, displaying an utter lack of compassion that I found appalling as well as traumatizing. Prior to the final straw above, I gave Dr. Frachtman and Austin Gastroenterology on 34th St. several tries. Each time I found THE ATTITUDE begins at the front desk with a staff that behaves as if the patient is the lowest form of life. The phone system is a ridiculously convoluted nightmare and the staff is arrogant, snooty, condescending, and disdainful towards the patients in my experience, likewise his nurse. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Frachtman or Austin Gastroenterology on 34th St. to anyone looking for a G.I. doc!

I would highly recommend Dr. Frachtman. He is very diligent in what he does and knowledgable. I definitely felt like I was in good hands. He also made a effort to get back to me when I left a message to the point of calling me over the weekend.

Dr. Frachtman is good-humored, up-to-date and caring. The various scopic tests he performed were flawless and produced useful information. He also followed up quickly on a test result reported to me by another doctor and made a valuable correction in the statement and interpretation of it.Staff work varies from friendly and helpful to forgetful. One important test was never completed by CPL and the office was unaware until I followed up. On another occasion, I appeared for a procedure, my third at the site, only to be told that I couldn't have it if I took a taxi home, my successful mode of transportation on the other occasions. The procedure still has not been done because my family is thousands of miles away and my friends can't leave their jobs on such short notice.
