Dr. Robert Jeffrey Halpern, MD

Taken to this hospital by ambulance. Found out later that my neighbor called for help when I couldn't respond to her coherently. My sister arrived within the hour and Dr Halpern told her I was treated for dehydration and was being released. She asked what did the head scan show and he said, "we don't do head scans for dehydration." My vitals were B/P 208/130, HR 60, extreme sensitivity to light, blood in urine, inability to coherently answer questions, massive headache. She told him that she wasn't comfortable taking me home in that state and he said "that's a personal problem". Luckily, my sister took me to a hospital near her home 1 hour away. That hospital did a head scan immediately and within 11minutes, had me in a helicopter to another hospital that could perform a life saving emergency procedure to place a coil into a ruptured aneurysm to stop the bleed. Thankfully, after weeks in the critical care, I am alive today. No thanks to Dr Robert Halpern.

He was rude, rude to patients, staff, he even answered a personal call and stated "Mother I told you not to call during these hours and hung up". I was referred by my PCP, who stated he felt I had AMD, Halpern said no...went for a 2nd opinion ...was diagnosis and treated immediately....run from this practice!!
