Exceptional care!!

Very prompt and polite staff and Dr. Dr actually takes time to find out what is going on and makes sure all your questions are answered.

Never have needed follow up after appt.

Today's visit was uncomfortable from the start. Never had a problem before with Dr Johnson, however today his LPN Nurse was curt and impatient with my mother as she tried to fill out paperwork. Once in the room, this young lady's disposition did not get any better and was outright rude. Made an excuse that she had eaten too much and felt sleepy when I think she knew she had crossed the line. Anyway, what was even more surprising, was Dr Johnson. Asked my mother where her heel hurt and she bent over and was trying to explain and he clapped his hands together very aggressively and shouted, "This is a simple question, where does it hurtâ?¦.not a hard question" It stunned us both. The appointment was for my mothers heel pain. He did not look at the heel, did not even ask her to take her shoe off. And if he felt we should go to an orthopedic, he did not suggest it or refer her to one. Just said to try to stretch it and not walk until it was no longer sore. This man was not in a… position to be with patients today. This will be the last time I will take my Mother to see Dr Johnson.

I have had SLE, Sjogrens, and fibromyalgia 20 years ago. Dr. Johnson has been my rheumatologist since we moved into this area about 7 years ago. I have found him to be a caring, knowledgeable and responsive doctor. If I send a query email or ask about some results using the Carilion MyChart system, he responds quickly. I feel that I lucked out with him when I was searching for new doctors in the area.
