Dr. Robert Scott Jolson, MD

Went with presentation of pain mid upper arm. Ordered MRI. Quick call same day to report I had a rotator cuff tear. Asked how big tear was. Waffled a lot said unclear because MRI was upper arm. Finally got him to say "oh I guess a medium size tear". Rushed to get off the phone said put in order for PT. But when published to MYChart tear was defined in mm in length and full thickness. My quick research put it categorically on the DeOrio and Cofield scale at a "massive" tear. With my own info, I went to PT appt and as I was checking in I asked why PT, was surgery not option, any details on the what, why. They said your doctor would have discussed that with you. I explained I got nothing but a PT order. Tried to call, was encouraged to come in instead. Came in +2 mos, got absolutely no clarification on size, source, cause, probabilities. Jolson kept indicating radiologist report was probably inaccurate or misleading. I kept saying I have no more info still and either I paid… Thousands of dollars for a MRI report that was wrong, or suddenly there is no back up for even what you told me on the phone the day of the scan. It was beyond a useless visit. Then he said I should see his associate because we were not connecting. I will personally order the films and report and go elsewhere.

I have never been treated so rudely by a doctor or his nurse (staff?). I had two problems and the doctor spent lots of time asking irrelevant questions having nothing to do with my problems and putting down the doctor that took the xray previously and then said he didn’t have time to deal with my second problem. He told me I needed an MRI. He wrote down which location I wanted to go to. Then Sonia, his person, was unbelievably rude to me checking out. She more or less said I was wrong about where the MRI would be taken. .......and on and on. I will NEVER go back there!!!

Dr. J did my rotator cuff with complete success. Very nice and great job. Also treated arthritis in my knee..

Had an MRI on a Friday morning, and cared enough to call me at 6 pm that evening to give me my results as soon as possible knowing I was quite anxious to hear. I appreciated him in taking the time to let me know so promptly.

He is a horrible dr! Saw him for shoulder pain. The first thing he said to me was that I was not going to receive and pain medication. I never asked him for pain medication. He gave me a cortisone shot and physical therapy. I went to see my family dr because pain was worse. I saw a different ortho dr and my diagnosis was rotator cuff I had my surgery and now back to normal

My husband and I have been Physical Therapist in Cincinnati for over 40 years. Dr. Scott Jolson is very compassionate, efficient, truthful, and accurate. We have gone to him for multiple injuries as have our children. I worked for his father and him when they were The Freiberg Orthopeadic Office.

Very kind. takes time with pt and listens to issues and concerns. had same day urgent apt when I had issues with immobilization. staff fitting brace very knowledgeable. reception staff pleasant and Has a beautiful office setting including exam room [green township location].

I'm not sure if he thought I was an idiot or if he just refused to explain his perspective on my injury. Either way, I didn't know what my diagnosis was until I got home and read it on the paper they gave me. I have no treatment plan other than rest and the one cortisone shot (which I wasn't told would also be numbing). He didn't tell me what I should or shouldn't do. He mocked me in the office after I questioned why he wanted me to get certain expensive testing. He never explained the benefits of the tests to me. He never explained nor told me my diagnosis. He didn't mention anything about possible therapy for my injury. Really, the only thing he accomplished other than the injection was to make me feel belittled and without any hope of healing. I can't imagine a worse medical visit. I know it's harsh, but doctors really shouldn't treat their patients this way. It should be okay to ask questions. It should be expected that they explain why they want a test ordered. I should be able… to trust a doctor.
