Dr. Robert Wood Joyner, MD

Dr. Joyner took care of me for 27 years, through numerous surgeries and rheumatoid arthritis. He is quiet, VERY CARING, and gets you out of pain. I am sorry I do not live close enough to still be treated by him, and I THINK he is just doing anesthesiology now instead of Pain Medicine too. He was both my anesthesiologist for a couple of surgeries and then dealt with other pain that I had. He is an OUTSTANDING DOCTOR in my opinion.

He put a horse needle in my spine that he said had pain medicine in it to numb the pain I was almost paralyzed from when I hurt my back. He did not give me any meds. He yelled at me and called me a drug addict when he had not even given me any meds or helped me at all. He appeared to be taking his own drugs though. He wears a pony tail and he thinks a lot of himself but little about patients, if he still has any. I would never go to him again even if I were about to die. He is the worst maniac I have ever been to. My primary care doctor did not know what he was until he sent me to him. He picked him from a list. Thank goodness the neurologist I went to sent me to someone else and he was great and helped me. Then I knew what a real pain specialist was and now I get relief from the pain. Never go to Joyner (Joiner) because you will regret it.

I have been with Dr. Joyner since 1984!! I mean to tell you, he is one in a million. He was not only my anesthesiologist through neck surgeries, but is also and outstanding Pain Management Specialist. I wouldn't trade him and his expertise for all of the docotrs in San Antonio, Texas. I consider him a friend as well as my doctor. I have had four spianl surgeries and to say the least you walk around in pain a lot. Put that with rheumatoid arthritis, and you will understand while after all of these years he is number one on my list of doctors.
