I met Dr Kent subsequent my treating pain intervention physician.
I was concerned that I would not get the care provided to me by my first physician, who helped me.
I have worked with the best doctor's in the try-state area, NY and Jersey for over 35+ years.
I was also privileged to be under the care of Dr Schawartzman who is the pioneer specializing in CRPS/RSD.
I was evaluated by his counter part, Dr.Cruciani, located at Drexel University.
In addition to those two doctor's I had a top notch medical team from Hospital for Joint Disease, NYC.
All of these doctor's made the correct diagnosis of CRPS/RSD.
I was in the healthcare and medical industry for 35+ years. It was then I was introduced to Dr. Jose-Gomez Rivera.
He began to be part of my treatment team and he treated me for CRPS/RSD.
I SUFFERED a horrific accident that forced me to move down to Florida.
Having the knowledge about my disease and understanding patients, suck as myself, are skeptical and worried… when a new physician is introduced and your current treatment plan that kept me well and functioning, was changed.
Physicians that have studied the horrific nature of CRPS/RSD recognize it is not only your sympathetic system that is hi-jacked, the disease has been classified as a brain disease.
Makes perfect sense, our brains send signals to our sympathetic nervous system.
Dr. Kent is a great person and doctor, however he did not recognize or understand all of the other issues I have as a result of CRPS/RSD.
HE WASN'T convinced that CRPS made a new home in my shoulders.
We had a very good conversation regarding his course of treatment opposed to other medical doctor's that specialized with CRPS.
HE was not aware that brain atrophy associated with CRPS made it difficult for me to understand why I was challenging him.
As per patient rights, any patient has the right to question another treatment plan.
Long story short, I was aware that Dr Kent did not review my documentation from my past treating physicians.
I brought all of my medical information in for him to review, before I see him this week.
I have full body CRPS and when he disagreed with that, I began to feel mad and was thinking now I have to find another doctor that understand the etiology of this beast.
I was not at all confident with Dr Kent.
Then Divine intervention happened, I am a very spiritual person.
The very next day after my visit with him, I woke up with my shoulder red, blue and burning me severely.
He stepped up and told me to see him right away. He finally saw CRPS and he was very concerned and tried to help me.
Dr Kent, at each visit demonstrated compassion,, for me my health, and safety.
He always took time to understand what I was saying to him.
Being in the medical field for so long, you know you have a good doctor when he listens.
I do believe Dr Kent will do everything possible to help me.
I may have to go thru treatments that do not sustain me however, I do believe Dr Kent will figure out what the right medication will give me relief.
Please understand I am not complaining or stating he is not a superior physician. It's the opposite, I do believe he is outstanding.
He and I had to get thru a few hurdles to get on the same page.
I have been suffering with this monster since 1999 and when I know a certain TX PLAN works for me, I stick with it.
Surgery is completely out of the picture for me. I have had 33 surgeries.
Today as I write this is I have lost motor function in my left hand and arm. But I got my butt out of bed and went to work.
What is helping me is the medication my neuro RX. back home.
Dr. Kent confirmed stage 3 CRPS which I've known for years.
I also informed him that this disease affects me neurologically, meaning sometimes I cannot process new information.
I am confident going forward, with Dr Kent and after he reviews my medical documents, he will be able to provide me the best course of action pertaining to my TX plan.
I really do like him and I feel hopeful now since the night he and I talked candidly.
Unfortunately, my pain, burning, temp. Changes, and atrophy will never end. I'm a fighter, I advocate for myself and I refuse to not live my life. I work daily washing cars for Enterprise.
I've lost relationships with family and friends because they can't wrap their head around this beast.
I'm trusting God has put Dr Kent in my life to help me in addition to using the medical information to help him reach the goal of keeping me comfortable.
With all of my medical education and working with the best doctor's, I can honestly say that Dr Kent is another one of the gifted, superior doctor's that wants to achieve the highest quality of care for me and other patient's.
For those of you that are looking for him, I've read posts from his former patient's you want to know where he is.
He is at coastal pain and neurology, located in Ormond Beach.
So get in your ride, and allow his gift to continue to help you.
I am honored to be one of his patient's.
He is my "SuperMan"
So Dr Kent if you're reading this I look forward to working with you in addition to allowing me to teach you more about me.
You don't want me to go "Jersey on You" haha
Sincerely you're gifted and my confidence in you is there.
I need a different TX when I see you this week.
Thank you for your genuine care.
See ya next week.
I'm dealing with the pain, burning and all the goodies CRPS reaks havoc on me since my last visit with you.
I refuse to let this monster put me down.
You rock Super Man
