Dr. Robert John Knowling, MD

Dr Knowling is a Very Professional Doctor, he treats you like a person, not Like a number. I was a little scared at first but I had already visited and had surgery with Dr Knowling for BC. We went back for another procedure and I felt more comfortable, he explained everything to my husband, daughter and I. I knew it would not be a easy surgery because of other problems I had, but it was much easier than I thought, I am now in the second month of recovery and taking it a day at a time, I really like Dr Knowling, and my husband is a little bit of a introvert, and to see him laughing and comforting made it easier on me. His staff is wonderful and I really Like them All, I would recommend them to anyone. I would like to say Thank You. For Being so Kind, Understanding and Comforting. Hattie Howell

Dr Knowling was so good to me, he explained everything from A to Z, I ended up in the hospital for another problem, and apparently Dr Knowling thought it was from my the surgery he had done, he was there immediately, very concerned, he always made me feel Comfortable and treated me like a person not a number. I would recommend him to anyone. This is my Third Surgery under Dr Knowling and if I had to choose again it would be Dr Knowling and his staff. They are wonderful and Blessed! Mrs Howell

I would highly recommend Dr. Knowling and his staff! It takes more than just the Dr. to have an overall wonderful experience. If your looking for the best staff and Dr. in one office then this is exactly where you need to be! I never had to wait long during my appointments even though the office was busy. The appointments just flowed nicely because it was apparent the staff and Dr. communicated and kept everything moving along. I had an extended abdominoplasty, breast augmentation and a little lipo done. I couldn't be any happier about my results!!

Dr. Knowling and his staff are excellent! I was having terrible pain from breast implants. After consulting with 2 other local surgeons, they blew me off and said it couldn't have been from my implants. He did the surgery, and within 2 days I was completely out of pain. I was so impressed with how they treated me, that I went back 9 months later and had a tummy tuck. I had moved out of state, but I went back just for him to perform the surgery. I stayed in a hotel for 2 nights, the day after the surgery on a Saturday morning, he came to the hotel room with one of his nurses to change dressings, check my meds, and make sure everything was ok. Wow!

Wonderful experience during a difficult time. I researched him and talked with more than 5 friends and family who had a good experience. I was well-informed and Dr. Knowling patiently answered all of my questions. I was impressed with the required medical tests prior to the procedure to insure that I was a good candidate. I researched for several months before choosing him for my procedure. The procedure had a beautiful outcome with minimal recovery time. The staff went above and beyond what I expected from pre- through post-op. My mother had a similar positive experience with a great outcome. We both highly recommend this great team.

Not only is Dr. Knowling a very skilled surgeon, he also has a fantastic bed side manner that puts patients at ease. He performed a breast reduction surgery for me two months ago and my procedure went very smoothly as well as my recovery. He is an amazing doctor and does wonderful work. I went in for relief from back pain and got that plus a fantastic result from the lift that is a part of the procedure. (He seems to be a perfectionist, which is good in his line of work.) His staff was kind, courteous and attentive and he was all of those things as well. I saw several other doctors in the Huntsville area for evaluations and he was and is my first choice because of the way I was treated by he and his staff. I also feel like he is a very genuine person and became a doctor to help people. I know that he performs a variety of cosmetic surgeries, but his work and compassion for those that come to him for breast reduction and reconstruction after cancer is clear. He gives people… a more enriched life by simply allowing them to have that normalcy that many take for granted. I am so thankful to him and would recommend his services to anyone. I wish I could give him far more than four stars because he certainly deserves them.

His work is impeccable, he is friendly and willing to answer all your questions before your procedure; however, after the procedure he always made me feel like he had to move on to the next patient as quickly as possible. I only saw him three times after the procedure, most post-op visits were completed by his nursing staff. His office staff is hit or miss, a few of them are really great, friendly and willing to spend the time (in a friendly manner) to answer as many questions as needed; however, the majority of them rushed, almost irritated if you ask questions. There is one particular nurse that rushed WAY TOO much, in her removal of staples/stitches, to the point where she missed 4 staples and instead of going back to be made to feel uncomfortable again, my husband removed them. If your looking for a fabulously, skilled surgeon I would highly recommend Dr. Knowling, as long as you don't mind the in and out once your procedure is completed, especially with the nursing… staff. Don't get me wrong, I got my questions answered, but it was not a comfortable situation when it came to his nursing staff.

Dr.Knowling performed my breast reduction several years ago. He was very caring & compassionate through the entire process. His staff was the same way. After everything I had dealt with in regards to the doctors I consulted prior to seeing him I was scared to even go through with it. He explained everything completely-from the beginning to the final results, what could happen too. I am still amazed at how great everything turned out. So much so that when my mother in law had to have breast reconstruction from having breast cancer I asked her to go talk to him. She had seen a "very well known" cosmetic surgeon about a month prior for the reconstruction and she left that doctor's office in tears due to the way he had made her feel. Dr.Knowling performed her reconstruction and she couldn't be happier. I don't understand some of the other peoples complaints as to his bedside manner or the lack of care, because after my surgery and my mother on laws surgery we NEVER had any issues with any… of those things.

Dr Knowling is very thorough and spends as much time as necessary with all patients. His staff is awesome. His work is #1.
