Dr. Robert Patrick Lucas, MD

From the first time you meet him you know that Dr. Lucas truly cares for his patients. He takes his time, listens to whatever is going on and then explains what needs to be done. I am thankful to have him as our family physician.

Dr. Lucas always takes time to listen to my medical problems and provide the best care possible for whatever problem I have. I have had the pleasure of being his patient for many years and I would recommend him to anyone. His passion and love for being a doctor shows in the care he gives. I really appreciate having a doctor that listens and takes time to view me as a real person and not just a number.

Dr. Lucas has been my physician for many years. When you see Dr. Lucas, it quickly becomes clear that he truly cares about his patients. He takes all the time necessary, he listens and then he addresses the issue. On several occasions he has gone above and beyond any expectations in addressing my situation. It is refreshing to deal with a physician that exemplifies dedication to his patients and goes the extra mile on their behalf.

Dr. Lucas has been our primary care physician for just over a year. We’ve had several other doctors for primary care around Athens and never really felt as though we connected with them. The focus during our visits with prior doctors was more on our medical history, symptoms, and treatment plan and less about who we are as people. Appointments always seemed rushed, as if there was a race against the clock. The visits were impersonal and made us feel like we were “just another case.” This always caused an uneasy feeling with us. This is not the case with Dr. Lucas. He took the time to talk with us and learn about who we were. It wasn’t a long time, but enough time to generally get to know us. These few minutes meant a lot to us. Dr. Lucas always listens to our concerns and takes the necessary time to answer all our questions. He is always friendly and genuinely seems to care about us as patients. We never have a problem getting an appointment with him within a couple of days of our… call. His staff is simply wonderful. They are very friendly and have a great sense of humor. We are grateful to have found and to have Dr. Lucas as our primary care physician.

Dr. Lucus was very short and seemed very judgmental. He didn't listen to my problem and was extremely quick to leave the room. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
