Dr. Robert Chris Nielsen, DO

Neglectful! Let me give you some examples. Mother 1 is an 17 year old with no previous pregnancies. She complains of all the classic signs of preeclampsia. Doctor Assures her it’s just typic symptoms of pregnancy. After passing out at home she is rushed to the hospital then transferred to a hospital with a NICU. She then deliveres a 1.12 lb baby girl due to preeclampsia. *side note: 2 future pregnancies end with preeclampsia both delivered past 30 weeks. Mother 2 teen mom (high risk) complains that she is leaking. After 2 months 3 tests, all negative, she collects a sample herself from home. Hospital test positive she is than transferred to a hospital with a NICU. Upon arrival they do an ultrasound and see that the baby has very small pocket of fluid and she delivers a 2lb baby boy a month later after being on bed rest. Mother 3 is 27 with 2 previous pregnancies over 10 years prior who delivered by scheduled csection. She is spotting. Doctor assures it’s normal and nothing… worry. As she is far into her pregnancy it may just be a sign of labor. She continues to bleeds and more of it. After listening to the heart beat he assures that it’s again typical. Just to keep an eye on it. Uncomfortable with the answer she then sees another doctor for a second opinion. She is immediately rushed into the OR. Her previous csection incision had torn and she was bleeding internally. She receives a full hysterectomy, the baby and her are admitted for a week to recover. Here are just 3 people I know personally. Please for the sake of your child (and possible your own) life please do not go to doctor Nielsen!!

After 13yrs I became a second time Mom, at first I didn't know how to take Dr. Nielsens personality and I had to find my groove but I learned to understand him as a paitent and a Mom. He is very straightforward and to the point, at times I walked into my appt and you could tell he had been delivering babies that morning and been very busy. He does look out for your best interests and does listen to your concerns, I was probably one of the most pain in the rear paitents he has had in awhile bc after 13yrs I was a nervous wreck and blessed at the same time. His nurses staff, Susie is great and very nice. I delivered a heathty baby girl Sept 2018 by csection(repeat) and Dr. Nielsen really took great care of us and went back to check in on me throughout the hospital stay. The nurses at the hospital told me on several occasions "Dr. Neilsen delivered my babies and he is the best OB Dr at Lake Regional" and "Dr. Neilsen makes work fun and gets things done like they should, he has delivered… half the hospital staffs babies." This made me feel so good and it should you too.

I was looking up OB Dr's for a friend and wa shocked to see this man still in practice. In 1995, I had to have an emergency C-section 9 weeks early because this man never once listened to me when I said something was wrong. I was having contractions just walking a few feet with my 3rd pregnancy. He never asked to see me, just put me on a medication to stop contractions. If he'd done a simple sonogram, he would have seen I had placenta previa. I ended up having placenta abruption and started hemorrhaging 9 weeks early. THANK GOD my son is alive, but he almost died. This doctor should not be trusted.

Dr. Nielsen spent time with me and allowed me to tell him all my concerns. I had been to a different doctor weeks earlier who misdiagnosed me and never fixed my issue. His staff is friendly and when I left a message called backed promptly. I would highly recommend Dr. Nielsen to anyone.

Dr. Nielsen delivered all 3 of my kids and I didn't have a single complaint about him or his staff! I would definitely recommend!

Staff is always pleasant and understanding. Dr is fast yet thurough. I had two babies and always felt comfortable and cared for.

Would NEVER recommend. In 2 visits for a first pregnancy, he spent a total of 10 minutes maybe talking with me. His staff talked to me more about payment options than he talked about prenatal care. Thank God I found a new doctor.

Dr. Nielsen was recommended to me by my friend and I would def. refer somebody to Dr. Nielsen's office. The whole staff is friendly and caring. I don't have one bad thing to say about the Dr. or staff.
