Dr. Robert J Ponzio, DO

Dr. Ponzio provided a full explanation of my condition and only after my pain was not able to be controlled, did he discuss surgery. He listed everything I needed to know about surgery. I am very grateful for his help as I am doing great! Thanks

Caring, compassionate, very thorough, great bedside manner! I'm so happy my best friend recommended Dr. Ponzio to me after a fall in which I tore my rotator cuff. Had surgery recently and am very satisfied and on the road to recovery. Highly recommend!

Dr Ponzio operated on my shoulder about ten years ago. I have been pain free ever since. He could not have been more warm, caring and professional. I highly recommend him to anyone in need.

Dr. Ponzio may be an good surgeon, but his communication could use an upgrade. I met with him to discuss options for a torn meniscus (I'm fairly active and under 60 years old.) When I told him my goal was to go back to doing the things I enjoy without discomfort, his response was "You aren't getting any younger and you should probably find some new interests." Seriously?! I wasn't telling him that I wanted to do ironman triathlons or climb Everest. I left his office and did not go back because if his attitude is about limitations, that's not who I wanted managing my case. A different surgeon with a better attitude said "you are a great candidate for this and should be able to do anything you want to do after surgery." Two weeks after surgery, I'm almost 100% back to normal.

This Dr works for the insurance companies with regards to denying medically necessary treatment. Stay away on principle.

This doctor is pompous. His nurse "ratchet" was as rude as he was. Called me a liar. He said I was contradicting myself about the pain. Had me in tears. I then went to rothman. I saw dr Jess lonner. I had a partial knee replacement at Rothman. Dr lonner fixed my knee completely!!!!! My advice is go to rothman. Stay clear of dr ponzio. He's extremely rude

Makes sure he tells u he thinks your a fake. "Your not in pain, there is no reason for it." I wish my pain on him. Very ignorant and waited 31/2 weeks for my appt. no wonder the ins. co. would rather pay me my salary then to help me get better. HE WORKS FOR THEM and he proved it. I can't walk & he is sending me to therapy instead of getting better MRI's which were 3 weeks old when he viewed them. Told me its my age. I should expect it. And then tried to tell the ins co. that I refused to go back to work. He then changed his little computer with the right words. I drive a school bus and I stated that I wasn't anywhere near well enough to put the children at risk, if I wasn't 100%. He spent more time telling me about him having an engineering degree also & he spent 2 months in Fl. learning how to use the i pod, all because I joked about letting a 10yr. old teach him how to use it. Very conceited, no bed side manner, and doesn't care about me only the ins. co,. What happened to… that oath he took. I guess it went away when he got his payck. from the ins. co. I wouldn't bring my worst enemy to this guy.

Haughty and uncaring. Does not censor what he says to patients no matter how insensitive or insulting. If you go to him for an Independent Medical Exam he will deny the veracity of your symptoms since the insurance company pays him to do just that and he wants to work for them. Will easily compromise his ethics in this way. SAD!
