Dr. Robert Roland Powers JR., DO

Dr. Powers is intelligent, educated and quite sensitive when it comes to women's problems. I can recommend no other doctor more than Dr. Powers. He is simply the best!

He delivered my first child and has been the best doctor i have had, very understanding and will take the time to make sure you understand everything that is explained to you && his assist katie deserves 5 stars as well she has helped me through alot!

Dr Powers is an excellent physician.I now live in Tampa, and I go back to see him one a year for my annual check..he is worth the drive..lov him and the staff to death.

This was my first pregnancy, and I was very sick and miserable. My baby also was breech, so I had to have a c section. Doctor Powers and his staff were so caring and considerate. The best thing about him was that he respected what I really wanted and needed instead of pushing some personal ideology about pregnancy and child birth. He guided me through the most wonderful and frightening experience of my life. I highly recommend Dr. Powers. He is wonderful.

Dr. Powers has delivered all three of my children, with the first one being over 18 years ago. He is a wonderful doctor and showed much concern when my father died while I was pregnant with my first child.He manages a busy practice all while continuing to serve his country in the Navy Reserve.

Dr. Powers is an outstanding physician. He is professional, caring and goes out of his way to ensure the health and comfort of his patients. He's been my GYN since I was 16 and when I had my first child at 33, it was a high rish pregnancy. Dr. Powers was very patient, kind and understanding in a difficult situation. I, with no reservations whatsoever, trusted him with not only my life, but the life of my child. I can think of no higher compliment.

Dr. Powers is a fabulous doctor. He not only is my doctor but he is also my mothers and my sister-n-laws as well. We liked him so much we made going to his office a family affair. He has already done so much for me and helping me with all my GYN issues but he did the same for my mother. Im glad to have found a doc like him b/c he is the only one Ive found that i didnt feel extremely nervous and akward with while recieveing an exam. Ive had women make me feel more uncomfortable than he did. I would definitly recommend him to anyone. I trust him with my life and trust him to delivery my daughter saftly into this world and so does my sister who is going to be having a boy...

He is professional but does not have a very "engaging" bedside manner. He seemed rushed and did not spend very much time with me during visits. I am a first time mother & he seemed to think I would just read a book or ask a friend to find things out. There are some things you want to hear from you doctor & not from well-meaning,often mistaken friends. In the end I was told to have a c-section with minimal explanation. I received a voicemail telling me to come in the next morning for my surgery. I wish he would have discussed this with me beforehand because by the time of the surgery I had been in labor for hours (labor began that night)and was on narcotics and in no position to express myself. I feel the c-section was completely unnecessary. An arbitrary estimation of weight was used to make the determination. Factors such as the baby's length, head size, and my pelvic features were not assessed. I feel I should have been allowed to try for a vaginal delivery. I will probably… be forced to have subsequent c-sections now due to the fact that doctors are not prone to performing VBACs. I blame myself for not asserting these things, but I'm a first timer and figured "the doctor knows best". Overall, and in hindsight, I feel he performed an unnecessay procedure and he has only a mildly accommodating personality. I will not be revisitting Dr. Powers or his office for future care.
